Finally!

Libby finally went to the potty!!! We've been talking about going to the potty for months now, and she finally did it. Yesterday morning I sat her on the potty. I left her in the bathroom by herself for a minute, came back and she had gone #1!! I gave her lots of praise, then she immediately asked for ice cream. I told her if she went in the potty we could go to Bruster's and get some ice cream. So we did exactly that! Well, not right away we waited till after lunch to go... I don't think Bruster's is open at 8 in the morning. :-)

I pray that she continues to do well with potty training, and that I stay patient with her. She did have a few accidents yesterday and an accident during the night, but that is expected. I mean she's been in diapers all of her life! That's all she's known. Hopefully she will be potty trained by her 3rd birthday.

Here is a picture of Libby from this weekend. She is holding a hat my Mom got at Sandy Thompson's birthday party. I thought it was so cute!! Libby sure did love playing dress-up with it! My mom sent me several pictures of her in the hat, but they wouldn't save for some reason. I'll try to figure it out later, and post them sometime soon.

Also, a shout out to one of the best Grandmothers.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BESSIE!!! WE LOVE YOU! :-)

Lucky

Nolen is one lucky guy with one lucky cell phone!

On Tuesday he was looking for his cell phone around the house. He couldn't find it, so he didn't worry about it. He figured it would show up later on. Well, around lunch time on Tuesday he got a phone call from his phone! It was a Alabama Power workman who found it LYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD on Academy Drive (our street)!! Our street is a pretty busy street so I don't see how it didn't get run over. We have NO idea how it got in the middle of the road. All we can think of is that he put it on the hood of his car and drove off with it on there. He says he doesn't remember ever doing that though. So, I don't know how that phone got on Academy Drive! The phone is working perfect though. It just doesn't have a back to it. I just still can't believe it!!

Another story about his cell phone... He left it in Lowder (Business school) one day, and didn't even notice until the next day when someone texted me from his phone saying that they were leaving it in one of the auditoriums! What nice people!! He has come very close to loosing this phone, and every time there is someone out there looking out for his phone! :-)

Lets just say that he is being very careful where he puts his phone now.

Libby is playing hooky from school today. She has a bit of a cold, so I just let her stay at home! I love having her at home, and am so thankful that I can be at home with her! Pray that this cold goes away fast! She coughed all through the night last night. Poor thing! She just couldn't get a break! She is doing better this morning though. Busy as always and wanting to go outside to play!

Bad blog...

As you can see my blog is in need of a makeover. I liked how it looked before, but I didn't really like the header. It was kind of blah. So, I was trying to make a collage of pictures for my header. It didn't really work though. I need help!! I don't know how to do all of this blog stuff. It's confusing, or maybe I'm just thinking too hard about it. So, I hope I can get my blog back to looking good in a few days when I have more time to read up on it. If anyone has any tips please comment! Thanks!!

Have a great day!

Weekend Fun!

We had a FUN and long weekend! We were out of school on Friday because it SNOWED!! We were so excited to be able to stay home and enjoy the snow. Libby loved it!! She thought it was the best thing. She immediately said she wanted to build a snowman. We waited until it stuck then went out and built one! The cold didn't even phase her one bit. I on the other hand got cold real fast, and couldn't stay out that long. She could have stayed out there all day. Thankfully Nolen didn't mind it. We stayed at home all day except for when I went to the movies to see Valentine's Day with a friend. The movie theater is like a minute away from our house, so I didn't go far. Here are some pictures from the Snow Day:

                                                              Catching snow flakes!!

                                                             Building the snowman

                                                            Our house in the snow!

Our snowman... His eyes are heart shaped Resse's! AND of course he has a Auburn hat on.

On Saturday morning we went to our friend Tucker's birthday party! Libby was so excited it was Tucker's birthday. She couldn't wait to play with Tucker. He had the cutest birthday cake I've ever seen! It was a barn and the cupcakes were the animals. So cute!!

                                                                  Libby and Tucker
                                                                    Birthday boy!
Libby was just as excited as Tucker was about his presents! Ha!

Saturday afternoon Gran and Pop came to Auburn! Gran cooked cupcakes for Libby, and brought them to Auburn for her to ice and sprinkle! She also had some princess decorations for the cupcakes that Libby loved! Anything to do with princesses Libby is happy! :-) She loved playing with Gran and Pop.

                                                             Deep conversation...

Libby and Gran icing and sprinkling the cupcakes!
The cupcakes with the princesses on top
Libby got a little carried away with the sprinkles on one of these...
                                                                           YUMMY!

These pictures were taken this morning with her Valentine's Day goodies. She walked in the living room and said, "VWOW!, I vike it Mommy!... Fhank you!" I thought that was so sweet!!

She got PJs, a book, My Little Pony, and bubbles

She also got a Fancy Nancy book that Gran and Pop gave her. She loves it! She fell asleep with it in her arms last night. Bessie gave her gave her a Veggie Tales movie that she loves too! She also got a box of dress up princess shoes from Sasa and Who. She wears them all around the house. She definitely feels like a princess now!

                                                       Happy Valentine's Day!!

Valentine's Party

Yesterday Libby had her Valentine's Day party at school. I couldn't go because I have a class from 11-12:15, and the party was at 10:45. (Very strict teacher so there was no way out of it) So, Nolen went with her! He was very happy to go. He loves this little girl to pieces, so he didn't mind being the only Daddy there! :-) He said she was so sweet. No crying!! Yay!

She also came home with a big bag of Valentine's from her friends. She took cookies as her Valentine's for her friends. I didn't realize how much time it takes to make cookies. Like from scratch, not the pre-made ones. I don't cook sweets very often. I have a big reason why...I'll eat them all in one sitting. No lie! It's a problem.  Anyway, I was feeling all creative and decided to make X and O cookies. I got inspired by foodnetwork.com.

They didn't turn out totally like I thought, but I didn't think they were too bad. They tasted good, but I'm just not sure if you could totally tell that they were X and O shaped. Now that I think of it... I forgot to take a picture of them! Oh well.

Here are some pictures from the party. Nolen did good on his job of taking pictures. I thought they turned out so cute!

This was taken the night before when we were making cookies. She was a good little helper. Notice her apron! I found it in the dollar section at Target. I thought it was so cute!

Fly Like a Bird

Last night Libby said that she wanted to fly like a bird. She started flapping her arms up and down. Then she got her tutu and put it around her arms like wings. I just thought it was the cutest thing ever! I love it when kids pretend and use their imaginations. It's just so fun to watch! I got some pretty good action shots too.  Enjoy!
* I do put clothes on my child. I just realized that I've put numerous pictures on this blog of her playing with just her diaper on. She just likes to play with no clothes on. I guess she feels free?Getting dressed in the morning is quite a challenge for us!*

Nolen's Birthday!

We celebrated Nolen's birthday this weekend. We ate dinner at SpringHouse on Friday with his parents, my parents, and his brother Thomas. We felt pretty special since we got to eat in the well house. (Read about the well house by clicking on SpringHouse). The food was great as usual and we had a great time! Libby was a little confused I think since we were in a dark closed in room. After dinner we went back to the Lamberth's to eat the ice cream cake Mrs. Beth made. It's a tradition to make an ice cream cake for Nolen and his brothers birthdays. It was delicious!

One of the very few family pictures we have!

On Saturday Nolen wanted to watch the Auburn basketball game with his Dad. Then they realized that it wasn't on TV at their house. So this is what they decided to watch it on the computer. True Auburn fans right there! :-) Unfortunately Auburn didn't pull through with a win!

While they watched the game Libby played with her toys and watched Strawberry Shortcake. She managed to pose for a minute to take a few pictures.

After the game we went back to Auburn, then ate dinner with Abby and Hank Mann.

On Sunday (Nolen's real birthday) we did a whole lot of nothing. It was nice to have no where to go or have anything that had to be done. Then Sunday night we went to watch the Super Bowl with friends at the Auburn Recruiting lounge in the stadium. We felt pretty special! It was so much fun! Libby had  so much playing with all of the babies and of course Tucker!

AND..... We got to go to the locker room! How cool! I have never been anywhere cool that has to do with Auburn except for the stadium of course. We attempted at a family photo, but Libby was a little distracted.

Libby and Tucker were so excited!!

I think Nolen had a great birthday weekend. I can't believe another year has gone by! Time sure is flying by us too fast!!

** I think the highlight of Nolen's week though was that he got to go to the Signing Day dinner at the Conference center (not sure what the official name is) with all of the big donors. Thanks to his friend Hank who invited him! He couldn't stop talking about it when he got home. He thought it was so AWESOME!

Overwhelmed

Sorry I haven't blogged in a week for the people who regularly read my blog. I've just been feeling a little overwhelmed lately. I guess you could say school is starting to get pretty demanding. 2 of my major classes are the kind of classes where you have to study/research everyday! As one of my professors said on the first day, "Treat this class like it were your job!" Ah, well I already have a full time job. Being a mother!! So, you could say I have a lot on my plate right now. So, if you come over to my house it just might not be perfectly in order. Maybe some day I will get it all together! Right now I'm just trying to stay sane! :-)

Here is a picture of sweet Libby after getting the flu shot. I was so proud of her! She didn't cry at all! I was so surprised. She whined for a minute, but then the nurse gave her a popsicle after so she was happy! She kept saying, "It's all better!"
