Summer Fun

We have been busy, busy this week. Between going to class, going to the lake, having friends over and going to the pool, we haven't had much down time. I can feel that it's going to be a busy, but FUN summer! And if you can't find us... We are probably at either one of these places...

 Love it!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Eve!

Busy

It's beginning to really feel like summer around here in Auburn, Alabama. This weekend has been SO hot I can barely stand it. And with a very busy 3 year old that wants to be outside all the time, it can get pretty mesirable! Thank goodness for the neighborhood pool, I don't know what we would do with out it. I feel like the older Lib gets the more energy she has. I mean, it's fun and all do be going going going all day, but I just get worn slap out! Especially when your in the sun all day. For example, We went to the pool for a couple of hours yesterday, ran some errands, played outside, played  inside, you name it. Then last night before I put Libby to bed she ran a grand total of at least 10 laps around our coffee table. Nolen and I just sat on the couch shaking our heads, wondering how a 30+ pound little girl gets the energy to just run around in circles after being busy the whole day! I don't mean to sound like a complaining parent, I guess it's just the tiredness that I have going on right now. Not even sure if that is exactly a word? It is now. ;-)

Anyway, I'm making our weekend sound like it was crazy. It really wasn't. We had a great weekend! Full of playtime at the pool, grilling out, riding around in Nolen's new ride and hanging out just the 3 of us. It was fun! Summer classes started last Thursday, Nolen starts work in a little over a week and this means life is going to be crazy. And that I better get used to the "tiredness" because like it or not I won't have an extra pair of hands to help with Libby. I am so excited for Nolen though, it will take some time to get adjusted. Good thing I'm only taking classes for 5 weeks and it's only from 9:45-11:15, so this means I'll get to be home with Libby from June 25th-August 18th! Yay, I'm so excited about this! We'll probably be spending a lot of time at the pool and lake! :-) Can't wait!

Some highlights from our weekend... Try not to be jealous of our beautiful yard.

More T-ball in her pretty church dress

Can't stay outside with out a popsicle in hand.

And I failed to mention the newest addition to our family. The Honda Accord. We haven't named him yet, but hopefully we will come up with something soon. This was part of Nolen's graduation present from his parents, the second part is going on a golfing trip with his Dad. They are going to Jacksonville, Florida for a few days next week.

And if you were wondering what happened to the good ole' Pathfinder (Since I know all of you were). It's just down the road...

Our neighbor who works for King Honda bought it from us. He has hopes of selling it to a friend of his.  We sure do hope it works out for him!

No Shame

We definitely got some looks while walking to the mailbox yesterday. Apparently Libby has recently been thinking that Halloween is all year round. She does not like to wear normal clothes... It's either wear nothing at all, wear princess attire or wear her bathing suit (currently it's the green seersucker one). It changes daily though. And you never know when she'll want to wear her Christmas dress... She's been known to pull it out in September for an Auburn football game.

Got to run! Libby is about to have a melt down if I don't help her find her purple flower wand... Drama of a 3 year old...

Happy Saturday!!

Mr. Pete

Nolen has a very special friend named Mr. Pete. Mr. Pete and Nolen were best buddies when he worked for Russell Home Decor. He became one of Nolen's mentors in life, and they became very close while working together for a little over 6 months. Mr. Pete is such a kind, Godly man and we feel blessed to know him. He and Nolen try to get together every few months when we are back home (they always meet for breakfast), but this time Libby and I met them after breakfast at the Sportsplex. He had not seen Libby since she was a baby, so it was a very overdue visit! Much to my surprise Libby wasn't shy around him at all! She warmed up to him so well. She normally doesn't warm up to people she doesn't know very well. She likes to stay in her comfort zone (Mommy and Daddy), but she had the best time with Mr. Pete! She loved playing with him! He's such a sweet man... How could you not love being around him?

I'm so glad I had my camera with me to take some pictures. Now we can remember this moment forever!

The Lake

We just got back from  a mini "vacation" to the lake yesterday. We truly feel like it is a vacation when we go home. We have full time babysitters the whole time we're there (Thanks Bessie and Sasa), Nolen gets to play an unlimited amount of golf with his Dad and brothers,  he plays tennis with his Mom and I get to go on long walks with my Mom, lay out, go skiing and just be lazy. It's wonderful!!

Going to the lake is just so simple! I love it. No need to dress up or wear make-up, you just live in your bathing suit all day. Brings back memories of when I was growing up! Now that we live in Auburn, when this time of year rolls around I really start to miss being on the lake everyday, literally everyday when I was growing up. My group of girlfriends were known as the "sea-doo clique" I'm pretty sure that says it all about our lake days, and I'm pretty sure Nolen and his clique gave us that name! :-)

Of course a blog post wouldn't be complete without some pictures of Libby at the lake! And there are lots of them...

Graduation

The day finally came... Nolen graduated from Auburn! I am so proud of him! It has been a very fast 4 years, and I can't believe it is over. I'm also very proud to announce that he accepted a job a few weeks ago with Sterling Bank in Montgomery. We are so glad that we can stay put for now so I can finish school! Everything is starting to fall into place about our future, and we are very thankful for all the prayers from everyone over the past few months. They were definitely felt! :-)

Nolen's parents and my parents came down for the big day. It was so much being together to celebrate Nolen!

Family picture infront of our house...

Had to sneak some pictures in of just Libby!

Then we headed to Samford lawn to take some more pictures.Notice Libby has her Auburn pom-pom. We had to explain to her that we weren't going to a basketball game, but that we were going to Daddy's graduation. She quickly picked up on the "graduation" thing, so before we left our house she said, "Come on lets go graduate!" :-)

Then we stopped to smell the flowers...

Then we finally made it to Samford lawn for a picture of the graduate!

Then we headed towards the coliseum...

Made a few stops on the way...

Libby walking with her 2 grandfathers, Who and Papa T!

Then we made it to graduation. Libby was great! She didn't scream or cry! Thank goodness. She actually feel asleep during part of it. But she woke up in time to see her Daddy walk across the stage to get his diploma. All of the Spring 2010 graduates...

So proud!!  A little blurry...shaking Dr. Gogue's hand after getting his diploma! WOOHOO!
After graduation we went  to the lake to grill out at Bessie and Papa's house. My parents came over and Thomas, Hank and Kasi were able to make it down just in time for dinner. It was such a fun day!

Nolen, I am so proud of you! You have worked so hard the past four years. Even though at times it hasn't been easy you did so well sticking to your goal, and you made it!! I love you so much. I know you will do awesome at your new job! :-)
