Thanksgiving

\We had a great Thanksgiving with both of our families! We were in Birmingham on Thursday {with my family} and at the lake on Friday {with Nolen's family}. We are truly blessed to be able to see both sets of family during the holidays.

Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving. {First 2 pictures Allene took. Hope you don't mind me stealing them. :-)}

My Dad and Foots frying the turkey.
I was surprised with an early birthday celebration! {Thanks for the pictures Allene and thanks for the yummy baby bites Katie!}
We got to enjoy this sweet child who turned a week old on Thanksgiving. Isn't he  PRECIOUS!!??
Libby had fun playing. She was going non stop, so it was hard to get a good picture of her!
This was the only picture that I got from the Lamberth's Thanksgiving. We had a great time, and we even got to enjoy their newly renovated house!

3 cute kiddos! Libby, Jones and Henry.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Now bring on Christmas! Ready or not, it's coming!!!

Our Thankful Tree

Since it is Thanksgiving week {really the day before Thanksgiving}, I thought I would share our little thankful tree we made a few weeks ago!

I first saw this idea on Simply Seleta last year, then I kept seeing it pop up on pinterest. I thought it was a such a great idea! Libby has loved putting things that she is thankful for on the tree. I got a little worried at first when she started naming cookies and barbies!  Then she made her mama proud and named a little more important things like Jesus, family, friends, her teachers etc.

I hope everyone has a happy happy Thanksgiving!!! We have so much to be thankful for!

My little turkey! excuse the disastrous playroom.
give thanks to him and praise his name. psalm 100:4

There is no doubt that this baby looks like his Daddy, big Anderson! Here are some pictures from our visit yesterday.

Proud Aunt Katie

Libby is just smitten! She has been talking about him since we left the hospital!

Proud Uncle  Nolen!

Anderson, We love you so much and can't wait to watch you grow up!! You are a true gift from God!

Our First Fire

We built our first fire of the season last night! We were all in the mood for a fire, since it was a cold day.

And what's a fire without making s'mores??

The princess was all about making s'mores! {she had Auburn day at school today... reason why she has paint on her face-they did face painting.}

It was so fun! Definitely put us in the fall spirit!

have a great 11.11.11!!!

Playing in the Leaves

We checked off something on our fall bucket list this weekend. Playing in the leaves! I knew we would have to go to the lake or a park to do this {since we have only two trees in our yard.} We ended up being at the lake Saturday afternoon, so we took full advantage of all the leaves!

I didn't have my nice camera with me, so the iphone had to work!

Here are some pictures from a birthday party yesterday afternoon at the park.

Libby had a ball on the see-saw and the slides! I was so proud of her, she went down the big slide about 100 times!

have a great monday!

On This Rainy Day...

I retired for the day around 3:30 p.m. I felt a little guilty, but all my chores were done and dinner is prepared {this is extremely rare!}, so I didn't feel as bad. :-)  And what's better than eating popcorn and watching Snow White on the couch with a cute 4 year old??

I thought I would share some random not-so-interesting things.

I roasted vegetables this week for dinner. They were SO good. Anything that Nolen gets seconds on, I know it has been a success! :-)

I found these chevron printable Bible verse cards on... you guessed it! Pinterest!

Speaking of free printables, I found these flash cards here for the Libster. This site has a lot of great things for kiddos!

And one last random thing... I got red skinny jeans the other day. Thanks Tar-jey! Now I know why I'm so picky about my jeans. I admit it I'm a jean snob! Geez, do cheap jeans run small or what!!?? Anyone else have this problem? It was almost a deal breaker for me in getting them. Jeans are the only thing I have to splurge on. Thanks to Santa and birthdays for the splurges!

OHHH- I can't believe I almost forgot! Auburn-Opelika was ranked the 2nd most cleanest city in America. Check it out here. {go to 5:40}. I was cracking up when they couldn't pronounce Opelika! I must say I'm proud to call Auburn, Alabama my home!

OK- That's all. I have a tea party to get to! Have a great weekend!!

Signs of Fall

Pretty tree on Wrights Mill Road that catches my eye every time I pass it.
The fall wreath I made. Inspiration from here.
Jack-O-Lantern votives. I know Halloween is over.
Libby painting her "baby" pumpkins. Better late than never to post these pictures :).
My favorite. Honey Crisp apples are in season!
Libby in her pumpkin dress.
Mrs. Meyer's special addition candles.

Happy Fall Y'all!!!!!!

Halloween

Halloween has come and gone in a flash! We kept it real simple this year, and trick-or-treated around our neighborhood. {Which was a lot more fun! We got to see and meet our neighbors- yes we have some recluses around here.} No more downtown trick-or-treating for us... WAY too crowded! Two years was enough to make us crazy!

Libby was Repunzel {of course!}. She did have a few moments where she changed her mind on what she wanted to be. {minnie mouse, sleeping beauties fairy godmother, etc.} But I managed to keep her convinced that Repunzel was the coolest.

Repunzel's hair has seen better days.

We switched hairdos for trick-or-treating. The wig was a little itchy.

We saw a lot of neighborhood friends! Our neighborhood is practically ALL girls.

We even got to hand out some candy at our front door. I was in the kitchen cooking dinner, and next thing I knew Libby had our door open handing out candy! She loved it!

She guarded the door until everyone was gone.

Libby also took some "goodies" to her friends at school! I figured every child would be consuming enough candy, so we opted for goldfish! Who doesn't love goldfish??? And I had a big carton already in my pantry. Score! No extra runs to the candy store!

And thanks to pinterest I found these cute gift tags. I clearly am running low on ink.

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!
