christmas {part two}: willow point bowl

{I'm going to break Christmas Eve into two post because I have so many pictures I took that day.}

We went to the annual Willow Point bowl Christmas eve morning! {I think this is the 4th year.} It has turned into quite the event... grilling hot dogs, bloody mary drinking, playing of the national anthem, etc. It's so much fun!! I love my parents neighborhood, it's like one big family!

Here are some pictures...

Libby ran right up to Mama Faye when we got there. She loves her!!
The National Anthem by the awesome Katherine Barnes.

Libby high fiving Hayesie!
These last two pictures are from playing hide-n-seek. Libby's favorite game! I thought they were pretty cute!

We went back home to Auburn that afternoon, so we could wake up at our house Christmas morning. I am SO glad we started this tradition this year. It was so fun just being the 3 of us! I'll post all about it tomorrow. Can't believe TOMORROW is NYE!!

christmas {part one}

We packed up and headed to the lake on Thursday to kick-off our Christmas celebrations! We went straight to the annual Russell Lands family Christmas party at the stables. We didn't last very long though... Libby feel asleep in the car, and we were under a tornado warning. This was the only picture I got... The pretty Christmas tree. {a little out of focus and blurry!}

We went to the Lamberth's house for a little bit that afternoon. I got some cute and silly pictures of Libby with her Daddy and Papa. {notice how orangy these pictures look?? well... I figured out a way to fix this problem... or rather someone told me how to fix it. :-) more on that later!}

Libby helped Bessie bake and decorate cookies. One of her favorite things!!

Friday night we went to the Jackson's bonfire. So much fun!

teddy bear tea

Last Wednesday Libby and I went to the Teddy Bear Tea at the AU hotel. Libby is always up for getting dressed up and having a tea party. This was right up her alley!

Tucker was there too!
our dessert tray. everything was so good!
they served hot chocolate and tea.
Santa's elf was there too! Libby loved him.

all the kids got a teddy bear. isn't that so cute!?
after lunch and dessert they had story time by the fire.

The Piccolo teddy bear was there, but I didn't get a picture of Libby with him. She wasn't sure about him at first, but she warmed up and gave him a lot of hugs! We will definitely be doing this again next year. It was so cute!

** A LOT  of Christmas pictures coming soon! I took hundreds of pictures, so I'll do several post! :)

a break + a new tradition

Libby is officially on Christmas break. Woo hoo! I am so excited!! We both get a nice little break from packing lunches and rushing out the door in the morning!

{we had sweet Tucker over last night! can you tell they have so much fun together!?
Libby had pj day at school while they watched the polar express... hence the reason why she's in her pjs!}

Libby took her sweet friends and teachers their gifts today. She LOVES presents, and gets really excited about giving them out to her friends and teachers. {and she doesn't mind receiving them either. :)}

I've been working on wrapping presents and my Christmas shopping up. I'm getting close! I
decided to take a more non-traditional attempt at the gift wrapping this year. I found this rafia at World Market and thought it looked so pretty together!

On to a new tradition in our household... We are doing a Jesse tree this year! I wanted to start one last year, but it just didn't happen. We are a little behind though with our readings. We are trying to catch up since there's almost less than 5 day until Christmas! Ahh!

Libby has loved putting the ornaments on the tree each morning and night. I hope that this will be something that she looks forward to every year! Thanks to Holly for all the wonderful links! {We used Ann Voskamp's printables and devotions.} It's a lot to print, but I put in a binder so I will use these year after year.

Now I've just got to shake this cold and find my voice! Thanks to these 3 things for helping me be somewhat productive today!

 P.S.- I thought I would share this FOTF broadcast about creating a memorable and meaningful Christmas. I have the FOTF app on my phone, and it has become such a great tool for me. I try to listen to the broadcast when I'm ironing, folding laundry, etc. They have such great practical advice for EVERYone!

Merry CHRISTmas!!!

celebrating 5 years

This past weekend Nolen and I went on a little weekend getaway to Atlanta for our anniversary. It was so nice! We ate {a lot!} and just enjoyed being together. I've learned in our 5 {short} years of marriage that weekend getaways are very few and far in between {when you have a child}. So two nights away from being a mommy was very much appreciated {and needed}!

I seriously can not believe we have been married for 5 years! It's been a crazy 5 years, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. We have come along way during these 5 years.... and we still have so far to go! I can't think of anyone else I would want to go on this journey with than Nolen.

On to some highlights of our weekend...

****************************
We went to a really cool and trendy restaurant Friday night, Two Urban Licks. It was a really unique place with a fun atmosphere! And the food was AMAZING!

We did some shopping on Saturday and ate at the Atlanta Fish Market for dinner. These pictures were taken in front of the lobby Christmas tree.

It would be a HUGE understatement to say Nolen is pretty awesome! He loves me and Libby, provides for our family and most importantly loves the Lord. I can't think of a better man for me {and Libby}.

It was so fun getting away! Hopefully it won't be years before our next getaway! :)

Cheers to many many more!!!
