The Zoo

Last month we went with Blakely and Tucker to the Montgomery Zoo. We thought we were being smart by going on an overcast day... Turned out it wasn't overcast. It was so HOT, but we still had a great time!

Libby and Tucker being silly in the back seat.

We hit up the playground when we got there.

We had tickets for the pony ride since it was included in our Groupon. Libby surprised me and hopped right on that pony! She loved it!

She of course had to wear the butterfly headband. Funny how she loves to wear this cheap plastic headband, but won't wear the nice cute headbands I buy her. Hmmm...

They loved carrying their own maps.

We all loved the train ride! Gave a little breeze...

They loved the pink birds!

We can't wait to go back to the zoo. Maybe when it's a little cooler or overcast!

AquaPalooza

Hello whoever reads this blog! It's been a few days. Blogging has taken a back seat lately because I've been spending all my time with my little girl. Who might I add is WILD and CRAZY these days! Love her though.

I'm hoping to get caught up on all that has been going on... someday. For now here is a recap of this past weekend at the lake.

*********

This past weekend we went to AquaPalooza... An on water concert at Lake Martin. We invited our friends the Stephenson's to come with us, and it was so fun! Libby loved having Tucker at the lake.

I must say that I was a terrible "picture-taker". I wish I had taken more pictures, but it's hard to take pictures when you're in the water all day.

Here are some I did get... of course from the iPhone.

We went out on a boat ride before we went to AquaPalooza.

Amy, Me and Blakely.

Thank goodness we went by car, because it started pouring!

We went to my parent's house and grilled out. Libby and Tucker had SO much fun! They danced and danced.

I think a good time was had by all!

All in One Day

Yesterday was one of those busy summer days. We pretty much went back to back with one activity after another. We started of at splash park in the morning. This was our first time there, so it was something fun and new for the Libster!

We changed clothes real fast, and headed to the Auburn University airport to eat lunch with some friends and watch the planes take off.

Libby LOVED it!

Libby's sweet friend Winsley was there.

We ended the day with a trip to Yogurt Mountain because Libby ate her carrots at dinner. Sometimes life calls for bribery.

My New Hobby

I made up for lost time with my Janome this past weekend. I forgot how addicting {and frustrating} sewing can be. I took a sewing class this past fall and made some pajama pants that have become my favorite! Probably because I had a teacher there that helped we along the way.

Anyway... I got my itch back to sew some things for Libby recently. {The reason I learned to sew.} I started REAL simple and "appliqued" one of her white t-shirts.

It turned out OK.

The "L" isn't straight {should have used pins} and the sewing is FAR from perfect. It's a start though!

Here is my attempt at showing you how I "appliqued" this shirt...

Supplies you will need:

White t-shirt- Target
Scissors
Fabric- Hobby Lobby
Heat and Bond- Hobby Lobby

Cut your fabric to the shape you want it, then trace it onto the Heat and Bond. After tracing, cut the Heat and Bond to the shape of the fabric.

Iron the "applique" on the shirt for a few seconds.

Then sew it on the shirt!

The very, very rough finished product...

I think she likes it.

And P.S.- Don't look too closely if you see her in this shirt. :-)

Out takes

Here are some out takes from our "photoshoot" we had this past Sunday afternoon right out our back door.

Nothing fancy.

Before all this happened Nolen and Libby had a tennis lesson.

Getting better each time...

Last Week...

was SO fun!

We went to the movies with friends...

We dressed as cows for "Cow Appreciation Day" and got a free lunch!

Went to the Library...

Went to Libby's 2nd week of Art Camp. Here are some of her creations.

Libby played in the rain. You'll do anything at the end of the day to keep your child entertained. :) And who doesn't like to play in the rain?

We sure are LOVING some summertime, and all the fun things that come with it! Just wish it would stop raining so we can get to the pool!

An Old School Afternoon

A few days ago Libby and I sat outside with sidewalk chalk for a while. We had been inside almost all day because it rained, so we were both READY to get outside.

It was the most fun! Simple and easy fun.

We even played hopscotch!

Then I realized I had made the squares too big for Libby's little legs. She tried though!

Libby drawing a sun...

Libby's favorite... RAINBOWS!

It's the little things. We seriously had the best afternoon just playing with some good ole' chalk!

4th of July Weekend

We spent the long holiday weekend at the lake. There's no place I'd rather be!

We went on a boat ride Friday afternoon. Libby loves the boat!!

We grilled out at my parents house Friday night. Libby dressed as a princess of course!

After diiner we watching Tangled for the 1,000th time at the pool. It's called a "dive in movie".

Saturday morning we went to the pancake breakfast at the Stables. They pancakes were so good! Libby skipped the pancakes though, and went upstairs where the carriages were. {Still in the princess crown!}

Saturday afternoon we went to the Lamberth's. Libby was very entertained by Henry's tiny baby pool and sprinkler.

We saw this cool "thing" fly by... Not sure what it's called?

We went on some more boat rides.

Libby went tubing for the first time. I'm so proud of her!! We pretty much made her do it!

We went to the Jackson's on the 4th. We saw cousin Analei! She is SO cute and SO laid back! Can't believe she's ONE!

I'm so glad Libby loves babies, because there are going to be a lot more in our family this time next year! She's such a good big cousin!

Libby and her Daddy swinging on the hammock!

We watched the fireworks from the cabana with my parents. Libby loved playing on the beach and watching the fireworks!

Happy Birthday America!
