All She Needs...

Is a princess outfit... to be happy! Right here she is half Snow White and half Cinderella. She likes to mix match. She is so busy these days trying to be the best princess! She starts her day at 6:45 a.m. with princess job #1 of the day. Today she was "pink" princess, and currently she is working on being Tinkerbell. Then her mother has to beg her to put on some "normal" clothes to go to school in. Usually she gives in with some bribing.  She then comes home from school around 12, then starts back at it. Princess job # 3 starts and she goes at it all afternoon. See, she really is busy with her princess job. So, there is usually a grand total of.... 5 changes on a normal work day for Lib. Seriously she would be totally fine if all of her other toys disappeared and all that was left were her princess clothes.

Farm Party

Saturday morning we went to the Colley's farm in Opelika. "Miss" Judy and Papooh were so sweet to have all of their  Sunday school kids over for a fun Farm Party! They have an amazing yard for kids to run around. They also have goats and donkeys. The little donkey was 10 days old! He was so cute! He is the one on the right. Papooh said that when he was born that his mother wanted nothing to do with him, and was kicking him! How sad! Papooh said this was not normal at all, but he took good car of him and is doing well. I just can't believe that's how big the he is already after 10 days!

The goats did some tricks...

When they're hungry they just go straight to it. This goat has been known to get on top of the house. Crazy!

The goats...

Some of the kids with Papooh

A view of some of the people... Libby took this one. :-) She's really into taking pictures.

Libby played in the sand box with her friend Jade.

Libby and Daddy watched people fish in the pond. They were on the side of dock, so you can't see them.

The Farm Party was so fun and Libby was worn out when we got home! She chose not to take a nap though. Which I was desperately hoping for! She did lay down and "rest" while I finished reading my book though. I've gotten back into reading recently and love it! I just started reading The Help. I haven't really gotten into it but I've heard it's really good! Any other good books that I should read?

Baseball & 100th Post

The weekend has come and gone and it's back to the daily grind. We had a great weekend though! We ended up going to the Auburn baseball game on Friday night. It was sold out so we stood outside of the field just like a lot of other people. People had tailgates set up, grills, you name it. It was like football season.

A lot of people stood in the parking deck also. Libby took this picture by the way. :-)

I'm not a big fan of baseball, but Auburn got to host a tournament. So, it was a big deal. And Auburn won Friday night and Sunday night! I'm not sure where that means they are going next? I don't have Nolen here to rack is brain on all the sports information that I know nothing about. Maybe if it was football or basketball I would have more of a clue, but baseball I know nothing about. But we went for a little bit and Libby had so much fun! She also met a little friend.

Nolen and I were cracking up watching this little boy talk to Libby. He would look at her and ask if she could go sit in his camo chair with him! Isn't that hilarious!? Libby didn't want anything to do with little boy, but show him her Barbie bike. He wasn't interested though. Imagine that! He just wanted to sit with her and watch baseball in his camo chair. He was a cutie though and so sweet! We were glad Libby decided to stay next to her Mommy and Daddy! :-) And besides she already has 2 boyfriends!! 3 years old and she has two boyfriends! Of course the #1 boyfriend is Tucker and her #2 boyfriend is Liam. She came home from school one day and said she "viked Liam".  Good thing Nolen approves of these boys! :)

Libby took a picture of her Mommy and Daddy. Not one of the best pictures, because it was so hot and humid!

And this is also my 100th post! I'm so glad that I started this blog as a way to remember everything in our life in Auburn. Mostly good not the bad. But who wants to remember the bad? It has really been a lot of fun for me! I didn't realize that I would enjoy it this much, but it's already fun looking back to see what we did a few months ago! So, I know it will be so fun looking back years from now when Libby's older!

Happy Monday!

Real Simple. Genius.

I love Real Simple . End of story. You should check out their website or magazine if you haven't (I'm sure most of you have), you won't be disappointed! I was surfing the web before I went to bed last night and found some cool thing in the "New uses for old things" . I've been cleaning out and organizing a lot lately and this website gives awesome ideas on everything to do with cleaning, decorating, organizing, you name it. Here are some things that I loved... And there are lots!

This is a soap holder used as a camera case.

Ya know the coasters that you get a restaurants? They can be used as cards on presents!

Easter egg used to store goldfish. Genius! Would have never thought of that!

Rubber bands used as a grip for little kids. This really might be put to good use at our house.

Love this!!

Bobby pins to help hold pleats in place while ironing.

Straightener as a iron

Play-doh as a  sparkler holder

Put pancake mix in a empty ketchup bottle to make cooking pancakes easier

This is a bar stool that was painted and to add a little pizazz--add a tutu!

Toilet paper roll used to hold clips, bobby pins, rubber bands, etc.

Aren't these the best ideas? Most everyone has all of these items around the house, so it makes it even better-- you don't have to buy a thing to spice your life up a little bit with some simple things around the house!

Firsts

We've had a lot of "firsts" happening around here lately...

- Nolen started his first real job on Tuesday! He really likes the atmosphere of the office and the people. He said before their first meeting yesterday that they prayed before they started. I thought that was pretty cool. I just don't see a bank praying before meetings. Maybe it's just me not being experience in the business world. :-)

When he came home on Tuesday night he was exhausted. I'm not sure what goes down on first days, but he said it was kind of overwhelming with lots of paperwork, etc.

Libby and I are also getting into a nice little routine around here. On Tuesday I had 957 things to do, so we were exhausted at the end of the day. I don't think everyday is going to be like that, it just happened to be Nolen's first day of work when I was extremely busy. I love busy though! I'm loving being able to be home with Libby by myself though!  :-) Looks like I'll have the same schedule for school in the fall, so I'll be able to be home with her for the rest of the year, and hopefully the rest of my college career if my schedule works out!

- Libby also had a "first" on Tuesday...

She started her first ballet class! She had so much fun! She's taking with about 8 other little 3 and 4 year olds at Moore's Mill Club. One of my friends is doing a dance camp for the month of June, so she was so sweet to include Libby. I didn't get any really good pictures, because Libby woke up from her nap about 30 minutes before it started, and she just wasn't having it with my picture taking! I got some though, she just doesn't have her ballet shoes on. I think that's one of the cutest parts of her outfit! :-)

Libby with one of her teachers, Miss. K.K

And this isn't as big of a deal as the other 2 "firsts", but we made our first trip to the new PUBLIX yesterday. It was it's grand opening and it was packed! Actually I take that back maybe it wasn't as important as the others, but I can't hide that I was pretty excited! :-)So nice though, they had different stations all around the store. There was a lady that was drawing peoples faces, (like the ones you see on the streets in New Orleans), different taste testing stations and there was a lady walking around giving out balloons and another that was making balloons in to animal shapes. It was quite the event! Libby got a balloon and loved holding in the cart, trying to bump my head with it, while she laughed. :-)

Holding on to her balloon and homemade popsicle when we got home.

I'm pretty excited about having a Publix in Auburn now. Wal-Mart was getting a little boring... I guess that's what you get with cheap stuff though. Better get to couponing so I can make fun trips to Publix!

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the lake! It was another yucky weekend, but we still had a lot of fun! How can you not have fun on the most beautiful lake?? Of course the sun came out on the last day we were there. Oh well, We have a lot more chances to enjoy the lake this summer!

We got to the lake on Friday afternoon. The weather was still pretty at this point, so I enjoyed a book while laying out on the dock. I also got to visit with one of my best friends that goes to Ole Miss. Fun seeing friends when I'm home! Saturday I helped with the Magic Moments came at Children's Harbor all day. This camp is awesome! Special needs children and their families come from all over the state to enjoy a fun weekend at the lake. These children are awesome and such a blessing! Saturday night Nolen, my parents, and I went to a friends wedding party on the lake. It was so much fun, the band was so fun! We stayed out a little past our bedtime, but it was fun being with friends that we haven't seen in a while! Sad I didn't get any pictures!

On Sunday, we just relaxed and grilled out with both families. My Dad cooked ribs for lunch. They were delicious! Libby played around outside while Who cooked.

Libby loves to play with Sam

After lunch we went to Bessie and Papa's. We hung out outside for a while until it started to rain. Libby loved playing in the water. It was a little chilly though. Then we grilled out with his whole family. We were definitely spoiled with some good meals this weekend. :-)

Monday we enjoyed sleeping in as much as we could. Libby and I played outside all morning while Daddy played golf with Who and Anderson. I played around with Bessie's camera and of course Libby got her little hands on my camera. Which is never a good thing...

You see how my camera looks? Well, it's mainly my fault for being so clumsy and dropping it, but Libby likes to take pictures with it. This results in it being dropped a lot. It's a tough little camera though, thank goodness! I cannot tell you how many pictures of my back side are on this camera. Libby just goes to town taking pictures when I'm not looking. Last week she had a whole photo shoot of me loading the dishwasher. It was not so lovely.

Oops!

After taking pictures of each other we went to Bessie's beach.

Then Papa and Bessie came out to play. All she wanted to do was give Papa sticks to through in the water for Daisy to jump in and get.

I think she's going to be a high jumper. She jumps all day long. Sometimes I wonder if she knows how to walk, because seems like she bounces everywhere she does. :-)

We packed up and ended our weekend with lunch at the Grille with Aunt Lala, Aunt Nana, Elisabeth, little Thomas, Sammy, Bessie and Papa. We had a great time kicking off the start to summer at the lake!
