Weekend Catch Up-

I'm a little behind on our weekend recaps. I think this catches me up... Last weekend {Oct. 8-10} we went to Atlanta Friday night with our friends Chance and Blakely. Blakely is an adviser for Alpha Gam. She and Chance were signed up to chaparon the formal, and they needed another couple to go with them so they asked us! It was such a fun night. {After all the getting lost and waiting on a bus}. The formal was at the Opera House downtown. It was a really cool set up... Everybody had fun and there wasn't too much drama. :-)

Saturday my sister was in town for one of her good friends wedding. I went and hung out with her Saturday afternoon, then I went with my parents to the wedding. It was a such a perfect wedding! Casey looked beautiful!! Libby and Nolen came for the reception. Libby loved it!! I knew she would if you put a band in front of the girl she will dance until it quits!

The only camera I had was the one on my cell phone. So the pictures aren't very good...

Libby kept looking at Casey and asking if she could dance with the princess! I thought that was so cute!

Katie and Libby dancing...

It was such a fun filled weekend... That didn't revolve around football all the time :-)

Flashback Friday

About a year ago... Libby wanted to wear her Christmas dress on game day instead of her Auburn cheerleading outfit. She certainly has a mind of her on and I LOVE IT!!

Fire Station & Google

I was in panic mode for a minute this morning when I couldn't find Libby's school t-shirt AND my camera wasn't turning on. Libby had her first "real" school field trip today so both of those things were very important to have.

I found her school t-shirt in the bottom drawer under a shirt. Not where I usually keep her t-shirts! No wonder I couldn't find it. Big sigh of relief!

I have to thank Google for the camera situation. I mean what would I do without Google?? It solves all kinds of problems! My camera would turn on, but it had a blank screen on it saying "E24". I simply googled "E24 error on Canon camera" and there it was... perfect instructions on how to fix the problem! Ah, amazing! I was so happy. I did exactly what the instructions said (the LCD plug was unplugged from inside the camera, so I had to unscrew the top cover) and it worked!!

So, if something ever happens to your camera, first Google it and see if you can fix it. Because if you take it to Best Buy or another electronic store (I'm assuming) they will have to send it off and that takes 2-3 weeks. I couldn't part from my camera that long! Especially since I have a cute 3-year-old to take pictures of... :-)

OK- Back on track to the field trip! I was told by Libby's teacher on Monday that she was a little "stressed out" about the field trip. If you remember last year, she screamed when the firemen came to her classroom. I couldn't be there so sweet Mrs. Traywick had to comfort her.

I was so hoping Libby would forget about that scary event, but she didn't. This year they actually got to go to the fire station. (It is in walking distance from the church.)

This morning she was feeling a little better about the fire station. We left the church and walked down the street to the fire station. She was great the whole way. She got a little scared as we approached the fire house. When we got there they took a class picture in front of the fire truck...

Libby was smiling, but I didn't get it on camera.

We went for a tour around the fire house. Libby was great! Then we got the room where they get dressed. This is what scared Libby the most. I told her to just put her head down if she didn't want to look at the fireman in his mask and everything. So she did exactly that, when she got scared she just closed her eyes and put her head down. Much, much better than I thought she would do!!

The firemen were so sweet!!

Walking back to the church. They had to hold the rope so they would all stay together.

I'm so glad Libby did better than I thought. Maybe next year she'll get over her fear even more. Who knows she might even give the firemen a hug next year!

Tufted or Nailhead Trim?

OK- I have a question for all who read this blog. (All 10 of you) :-). I need some design advice... I made a headboard this summer and want to add something to it. My original plan was to outline it in nailhead trim, but looking at pictures of tufted headboards got me thinking... So tufted or nailhead trim??

Tufted....

Such a hard and serious decision, I know. :-) Please tell me what you think! Thanks bunches!

Park

We have been loving this weather!! We've been spending a large amount of our days outside. It has been such a good feeling to be able to go outside and be comfortable- Instead of sweating to death!

Our favorite activity right now is going to the park. Last Monday after I picked Libby up from school we went home and ate lunch... then we went straight for the park.

Libby is seriously the happiest little girl when she is outside.

I thought it would be fun to show Libby how to roll down a hill.

She thought she would document this great teaching of her mother...

Now Libby's turn...

I wish you could hear her cute little laugh. She was having a ball!

LOVES swinging!

Telling me to swing next to her...

Moving on to the tire swing...

We'll be doing this a lot. As long as the temps stay in the 60s and 70s.

Happy Sunday!

Weekend

We had another great weekend. It just went by way too fast!! Living in Auburn during football season is so fun, there is always something going on, and we love that!

Every home game the city has a block party downtown on Friday. There is a band, tents set up with face painting, most of the stores are open and restaurants. It's a lot of fun.

This Friday DJ Ozz came. He played Libby's favorite song (Hey Soul Sister) which got her super excited!

She danced and danced and danced until the music stopped.

This was when Justin Beiber came on. You would have thought he had walked out on the stage. All the tiny boppers were squealing.. See the 3 girls in front of Libby?

"I throw my hands up in the air sometimes
Saying ay-oh, gotta let go.
I wanna celebrate and live my life
Saying ay-oh, baby let's go...."

Libby was jammin' out to some Dynamite!

Libby partied until the late hour of 8 o'clock... Needless to say she feel asleep pretty fast when we got home. She had lots of beauty rest to get for her 1st Auburn game of the season. And she did just that. She was READY to go to the Auburn football game bright and early. Everyday this week she's asked, "Are we going to the Auburn football game?" So, she was very excited that  the day finally came!

Walking to the stadium...

This is what Libby thought of the game 5 minutes into it...

It was so HOT! She drank water during the whole first half of the game. That's how hot it was. Bless her sweet heart. She had fun cheering for Auburn though.

And we got to watch Lindsey cheer at half time!
some of the Mountain Brook Junior High 7th grade cheerleaders

We were lucky that Lindsey was on our side of the stadium. We had a perfect view!

They were so cute and did a great job! Reminds me of my dance/cheer days! So fun!

Total madness!! They were running to spell out TIGERS...

Really good job considering all the craziness to get there!

I don't know how Lindsey felt about saying, "Go Tigers" :-)

Family picture before Libby and I left...

Libby and I left the game after we saw Lindsey. We felt like Auburn didn't need any extra cheering. (We felt pretty confident that they would win.) Nolen stayed at the game with Thomas though. It's so nice to be able to be home in 10 minutes from the game. Libby and I crashed when we got home. The heat was just too much!

Sunday we spent the majority of our time OUTSIDE. It felt like a sin not to be outside. The weather was so wonderful!!

Libby set up a little play area at our front door. And she dressed herself. :)
 She loved being outside!!
A little roller coaster action...

It was a great weekend. I definitely see these type of weekends happening a lot around here!
