hugh's baptism

This past weekend we went to Birmingham for a special celebration. Baby Hugh was baptized! Here are some pictures from lunch after the baptism.

I didn't get a picture of him in the gown he was baptized in. It was beautiful! Old lace makes me happy. Hugh II {my grandfather}, Hugh III {my dad} and Hugh IV {Anderson... my brother} wore the same gown when they were baptized. It's 80+ years old!

Anyway... I get a thrill when it comes to heirloom baby clothes if you can't tell!

This was the coat my Mom wore when she was baptized. Libby wore it too except she was a little bit older than Hugh... she was walking! Not the best thing for a walking toddler to wear. :-)

Can you tell Libby loves the role of big cousin!?! She's getting pretty good at it!

 He is absolutely precious to us, and I can't wait to watch him grow up and learn about God's love for him. We love you baby Hugh!!

daddy daughter date night

This past Friday was the annual DDDN here in Auburn! Libby was SO excited!! It was so cute, she was all giggly and excited when she was getting ready. :-)

She loved getting her wristlet from her Daddy! It was the sweetest thing. {except that my pictures came out blurry!}

We then headed to Pebble Hill to take pictures with friends! The girls were SO excited! It was precious.

Can't you see this picture being taken 12 years from now for their first prom!?! Don't want to think about that too much or I'll get emotional!

After pictures the daddies and girls went to dinner then to the dance!

Nolen said they danced and danced all  night! Well, until about 8:30. :-) Can't wait for next year... This is one of my favorite traditions here in Auburn! Nothing sweeter than a Daddy and his daughter!

two valentine crafts

Since Valentines Day is just around the corner, I though I would share what I {and Libby} have been working on this week. Of course BOTH of these ideas came from pinterest. Shocking... I know! :-)

First project we made was this beaded necklace with clay beds. We used sculpty clay from Hobby Lobby, string, a chop stick and some satin ribbon. This project doesn't really have to do with Valentines Day, but Libby is making it as Valentines gift for someone. I think these would be so cute for any occasion! Here is kind of a play by play on how we did ours.

I thought they turned out so cute! Libby was so proud of what she made!

The second project I've been working on are these felt envelopes. You can order those exact ones from Etsy, but I thought I would try and conquer them without spending $22-25. I failed the first time I tried to make them. I got an envelope I already had and traced it etc, etc. It looked TERRIBLE. Then, I saw where the lady was selling the patter for $10, so I figured that was my best bet!

FYI-- I ran out of fabric glue so the ric-rac isn't attached yet. They definitely aren't perfect, but they look like envelopes and Libby loves them! She loves writing "notes" and "mailing" things!

Here are my favorite pictures from this week. The weather has been too good to be true for February! We play and play outside all afternoon somedays. Makes for some real good sleeping! :-)

TGIF!!!

nolen's birthday

Yesterday was Nolen's birthday! I woke up bright and early to make pancakes for him before he hit the road to Montgomery. I guess I was really excited about surprising him, because I woke up at 4 am, and almost got out of bed to go start cooking! Thank goodness I did a double take at the alarm clock!

Libby loved having a "special" breakfast when she woke up! {she did like the pancakes, she just didn't like getting sticky. :-)}

When Nolen got home we went to dinner to continue the celebration!

After dinner Nolen went to the AU/AL basketball game, and we came home. The game was too late for us chicas.

*****************************************

We also celebrating Nolen's birthday this past Friday at SpringHouse! It's starting to become a tradition to go there for his birthday... 3rd year in a row! We also celebrated Aunt Amber's birthday that night too! Happy birthday, Amber!!

The Lamberth clan {except Henry.} Of course Libby decides to take her bow out of her hair right before the picture.

NOLEN-- You are such an amazing father, husband and provider to our little family. I sure am glad you were born. Can't wait to celebrate MANY MANY more birthdays together!

I LOVE YOU!!!!
