libby's day

Libby woke up bright and early Friday morning! She was so excited it was finally her birthday! The birthday fairy dropped some balloons in her room while she was sleeping, so she woke up to this!

We sang to her with a sprinkled donut before Daddy had to leave for work. She was so excited he stuck around until after breakfast! Notice she changed into her "princess" outfit right away.

That afternoon she had a sweet friend over! She and Stirling had the best time! They had a blast jumping in the puddles!

We had dinner with the grandparents Friday night. Libby's request was PIZZA, so we went to Mellow Mushroom! She loved it!

After dinner we went back to our house for presents and cake!

We went to the lake for the day on Saturday. We had lunch at the grille with Gran and Pop for Libby's birthday. More presents!!

Sweet Haysie came by to see us on her way back to Nashville!

Libby had such a great weekend celebrating her birthday! I still can't believe she is five! We didn't do a big birthday party b/c we are going to DISNEY at the end of this month! {we had just told her right before we took the picture of the 3 of us... can you tell she is excited!?!} We were going to wait and tell her when we actually were leaving for the trip, but we caved! We decided it would be fun to tell her on her birthday. {since after all it is her birthday present from us.}

My little 7 lb 3 oz baby girl is FIVE years old today! 

I can't believe it. These five years have gone by so fast, but at the same time I don't remember what life was with out her.

I did a little "interview"with her this morning that I hope to continue on every birthday. Never too late to start a new tradition, right??

We love you so much!! You are so precious to us, and I feel beyond blessed to be your mama! You have blessed us in so many ways! You are a true gift from the Lord.

two days

she will be five.... in TWO DAYS!! Five is big. I remember when I was five, and now I have a five year old?!? WEIRD!

She's ready! Her mommy and daddy not so much.

We are talking up being FIVE a whole lot now! Since we had this conversation the other day...

Me: "Libby it's your birthday week!!"
Libby: " Yeah, but Daddy said I can't be five." {Like he has control over her age! :-) }

She seemed a little sad, so we have changed our tone about her birthday! {not that we aren't excited-- we just can't believe she is almost five!} We have a countdown and are talking about all the fun things five year olds get to do. She's so excited!

It was a nice little getaway, but we were so glad to get back to this sweet girl! Isn't she so grown up??

first of the season

The past 3 afternoons we have pulled out the flower sprinkler! Libby has been begging to go to the pool since the weather has been so warm lately. I thought this would hold her over until the pool warms up a little more!

We nearly flooded our yard the first day...

This has really gotten us excited about summer! We have started brainstorming about our summer fun list! I found some things that are helping the ideas come...

I really like this idea.

And I really want this to get in my closet for the summer. {just because... obviously it has nothing to do with the summer fun list.}

Have a great weekend!! We are headed to MICHIGAN! Nolen's cousin is getting married, and we can't wait to celebrate with them! And it looks like I won't have to pack any big coats... it's warm there too! Yay!

libby + hugh v

We made a quick 24 hour trip to the lake this weekend. The reason for our visit was because little Hugh was there! We couldn't miss that!! Here are some a lot of pictures of Libby and Hugh.

I know I'm a little biased, but I think they are such a cute cousin duo! Libby has become quite the pro at being a big cousin. {especially of boys... since she has two!} She even announced that she was going to be the director this summer at camp sasa and who! :-) 

He might be dressed up like a princess, but I know that he will be one loved little camper!
