Yesterday we went to Montgomery to have lunch with Nolen. It was kind of last minute, so we just threw on some clothes and headed to the Gump. We got to see the "benk" (bank) where Daddy works. Now we know where he is all of those hours during the day he's not at home. Then we ate lunch, and Nolen took us on a "tour" of Montgomery. I say "tour" because we got lost a few times when we didn't really know where we were going, but we figured it out. And I have to say I have a whole new image of Montgomery in my head. I knew there were beautiful old homes, but I just didn't realize how beautiful they were. I told Nolen if we ever have to move to Montgomery, I already have my house picked out. :-) That would be YEARS down the road though. At least I hope. I'm not a fan of sending my child to Montgomery public schools- they scare me.
Back to the reason for my post. 4th of July. It was a lot of fun! As always. Spending hours on the lake, eating good food, spending time with family, seeing friends. It's all good. I already miss it and can't wait for next year.
We headed towards the lake late Friday afternoon. But before we went Northwest we made some 4th of July cookies! Libby was so excited. I had a good little helper.
(Poor quality b/c it was taken with my phone)
I thought they turned out pretty good, and they were YUMMY!
When we got to the lake Libby gave everyone a cookie. Everyone = just my Mom and Dad then Nolen when he got there. She was so proud of them, and cried every time someone ate their cookie.
We are trying to get Libby to be a lake water-bug, so we went down to the dock for late evening swim.
We watched the sunset. It was so pretty. Then we went to up to the house to cook dinner. We eat late at my parents. They're on European time. :-)
The next day we hung out on the dock, had friends over, swam- had a good time!
FYI Libby took this picture
I hate this picture of me, but I like the idea of the picture. So, there ya go! Riley Frances looks so cute and patriotic!
Nolen and Libby took a sea-doo ride. She didn't hate it, but she definitely wasn't a fan. That's what I lived on most of my summers when I lived at home. It's aged a little bit since then though.
We painted our finger nails and put on sticker earrings. Do y'all remember those sticker earrings? Katherine found them at her house and brought them over so we could all be 7 again.
After being on the lake all day, we had a friends wedding to go to.
It was a fun wedding. My feet were hurting so bad the next morning from all the dancing.
On Sunday (July 4th) We went to the Lamberth's. We did the same thing, hung out by the water and swam.
Libby loved catching the bubbles.
Then we floated for a while. Libby was safe. A lifejacket and a float around her. She was like a little bobbing girl.
I don't know how many hours we spent in the water, but it was a lot. Libby just played and played in the water on the beach. We were all shriveled up like prunes when we got out. We had a family 4th of July celebrate at the Lamberth's. All of the Lamberth/Ingrams
We all went to the fireworks show after. I don't have any pictures, but it was A-mazing as usual.
Monday we went on a long boat ride, then came back and relaxed. Tried to recover from all the fun. When we got back from the boat ride Jones and Libby headed straight to Bessie's room for the toys.
Libby and Jones showing some cousin love.
And this is how the weekend ended.
The End and Happy Birfday America! (as Libby would say)
