Libby the Ladybug

Yesterday was a fun day for Libby! She had her Halloween party at school, and we went trick-0r-treating downtown! To my surprise she really liked her costume. When I first tried it on her a few weeks ago she didn't like it at all! This was after I threw away the receipt and took the tags off. So, I was thinking that we might be a ballerina instead (she would be a ballerina everyday if she could), and just play dress up with the ladybug... But she ended up liking the ladybug costume!

Libby had a lot of fun at her school Halloween party! They did a trunk-or-treat, and of course that was her favorite! CANDY!! They had a jumping blow-up house too. She jumped for a minute, then decided there were too many kids in there! She had a lot of fun playing with her sweet friends! I got some cute pictures of Libby, her classmates, and her teachers Mrs. Carmello and Mrs. Rich. Not everyone is smiling and looking in the picture, but it's still pretty cute! It's hard to get 8 2 year olds to look and smile at the same time!

Last night we went downtown for Auburn's annual trick-or-treat party! We went to almost all of the shops downtown, and Libby got some good treats! There was a band playing, AND we saw Aubie!! Libby was so excited when we saw Aubie. I got a picture of Nolen and Libby with Aubie, but you can tell she is not too happy about being so close to him. She likes him far away for now. Nolen and Libby even got out and danced to the band. It was so cute! Libby was fascinated by the drummers.

After trick-or-treating we went and ate dinner at Panera Bread. We were sitting at our table eating, and I looked at Libby...She had FOUR suckers all in her mouth while eating her turkey sandwich. I decided that it was Halloween and it didn't matter! She can eat all she wants now, because when this candy is gone... It's gone! It usually doesn't stay in our house for too long anyway!

When we got home, I thought she would not be going to bed for a while since she just ate 4 suckers and who knows what else! After her bath she was out!! Even after all that sugar she just had... She still crashed! That baby girl worked hard!

For breakfast this morning she kept saying, "I want dis one, I want dis one!" I looked and she was pointing to all the candy.... We agreed on waffles instead!

I know all the pictures above are all out of order... I haven't figured out how to organize them yet. I'll work on that later!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

What to do on a rainy Tuesday....

Make play dough! Since we were stuck in the house all afternoon, I had to think of something fun to do beside watch movies! So.. I thought play dough would be a fun and easy activity. Libby helped me "Sturp up," also known as stir it up. She also picked out the color green for the color of the play dough! She loves the color green! She had a lot of fun playing with it at the table. It kept her occupied for a good 30 minutes. She used Halloween cookie cutters to make different shapes. She thought it was so cool! I definitely recommend this activity for bored kids on rainy days... or any day!

Also, as you can tell my camera is working again... I took it to Best Buy today to get it fixed. All the lady did was take the memory card out, blew on it, and then turned it on and it was working!!! I did the same thing, and it didn't work!!! I felt really stupid. I'm sure that girl thought I was crazy!

Pumpkin Patch

Today Libby and I went to the pumpkin patch with some friends! It was a lot of fun! We went through a corn maze, picked a pumpkin, and went on a hay ride. Libby picked out her own "baby" pumpkin, and I got a big one to carve. We got lost in the corn maze a few times, and we thought we may not ever get out! Libby had a great time running through the maze! You would think this girl would be worn out from all the running around. NOPE! She is still awake, and it is almost 4 o'clock!

Lately, she hasn't always been very reliable about taking naps! I hope this doesn't mean naps are gone! I really need those 2 hours of peace and quiet!! So, I can get something done around here! Oh, and also if anyone cares... It took me almost 2 hours to put her to sleep last night!! AHH! This girl does not get her sleeping habits from me! I think she is like Bessie and her Daddy!

Sorry I don't have any pictures. My camera was having some issues, and it was telling me that there was a memory card error. Does anyone know how to fix this?? I'll post more later in the week, after all of the Halloween festivities!

Fun Weekend!

This past weekend was a lot of fun! Even though Auburn didn't win. On Friday we met our friend Tucker and his mommy for lunch at Chick-fil-A. Tucker and Libby were so sweet! After lunch we went to Petco to look at the animals.  Libby and Tucker both spotted Nemo while we there! Then we moved on to Books a Million. They loved playing with the train, and looking at all the books! Libby loves playing with Tucker! He is so sweet!

Friday night we went to the home run derby. I'm not a big fan of baseball, but Nolen wanted to go see Bo Jackson! It turned out to be a lot of fun! It was FREEZING though! Poor Libby was shaking the whole time, but that didn't keep her from having fun! She cheered every time someone hit the ball! It was so cute! She also spotted Aubie in the middle of a crowd! Everyone around us couldn't believe that she found Aubie! I could barely pick him out of the crowd! This girl has some good eyes! After the home run derby, we met Katie for dinner. Libby was so good while the whole time! Except for when she fell out of her chair!

On Saturday morning my mom came to pick Katie and I up to head to Atlanta for market! I was sad to leave Libby, but I knew she would be in good hands with her Daddy! I love not having to worry about leaving her. She has the best daddy in the world! She and Nolen went and tailgated with Bessie, Papa, T, Lance, and Mack all afternoon. Bessie took Libby to J&M and she got her a pink Auburn hoodie, and she got her face painted too! I couldn't believe it! I know Libby had so much fun! Bessie even sent me some pictures of Libby in her new hoodie and painted face on my phone! After they tailgated all of the boys headed to the game, and Bessie and Libby came back to our house! While Katie, Mom, and I were in a nasty hotel room with a ceiling that was leaking! HA! Atleast we got the room free! :) We did a little more shopping on Sunday, then headed back to Auburn  to see the Lib! She was so excited to see us! She gave us all big hugs when we walked in the door! I can hardly go one day without seeing that sweet crazy girl!

Above are some pictures from the weekend. My favorite is the one of Libby and Nolen looking at each other!

NOT a fan of Firemen!

The Auburn Fire Department visited Libby's preschool class today. I've known about this day for a few weeks. So, this morning when I was getting Libby dressed for school, I told her that the firemen were coming to her class today! I told her that she would get to sit in the BIG fire truck, and maybe even pretend to drive it. She didn't think much of it, because we haven't been around firemen or fire trucks really ever! Little did I know that she would be TERRIFIED!! When I picked her up, the first thing her teacher said, was that she was TERRIFIED of the firemen and the truck! She said that one of the firemen went up to her, and asked what her name was. That's when to total melt down happened! I was so sad to hear that Libby didn't like the firemen or the truck. Although, she isn't a fan of strange men, and we've never really talked about firemen or fire trucks. So, It's understandable why she didn't like the whole firemen thing. I guess you learn something new everyday with a 2 year old! Maybe next year she will overcome her fear of firemen!

Weekend at the Lake

This weekend the 3 of us headed to the lake to see Sasa, Whoo, and Bessie. We had a great and relaxing time (except for Auburn getting beat). Libby loved seeing her grandparents! Bessie got her some new "little" peeps to play with, and Sasa got her a new movie! She loved playing with all of her "little" peeps at Bessie's. During the game she had them all lined up on the fireplace. She was talking to them like they were real people, and every time one would fall over she would yell, "NO, that's mine!" I guess she thought some one was trying to take them away. We are working on the sharing thing! It's just not that easy for a 2-year-old to share. She even wore her Auburn cheerleading uniform! I've been trying to get her to wear it every since football season started.  She just always insisted on wearing the christmas dress or another outfit! This little girl has a mind of her own!

Notice Libby and her "Straw Cake" girls (Strawberry Shortcake). She LOVES those girls. She held them the whole time she watched the Strawberry Shortcake movie!

Painted Pumpkins!

Yesterday afternoon Libby and I painted pumpkins! I've been trying to be more creative at home, so I researched on fun Halloween activities. This one stood out to me, because Libby LOVES to paint. ( It's her favorite activity at school), and it didn't look very complicated! So, I went and got some small pumpkins at a local farmers market, and got some paint from Target. She had so much fun painting the pumpkins! She even wanted her Daddy to join in on the fun. I'm sure you can all guess what Nolen painted on his pumpkin.... If you need a hint the colors were orange and blue! While we are painting Libby kept saying, "Me punkin bootiful!" It was so cute!

Libby's Workout

Princess Libby

Here are some pictures I took tonight of Libby in her princess dress.  She decided that she didn't want to put her pajamas on for bed. She INSISTED that she wear the princess dress.... Whatever! If it makes her happy I'm happy! I know these aren't the best pictures, but it is almost impossible for me to get her to stay still and smile. I was running all over the house just to get these! Whew!  That wore me out!

Oh, and just if you were wondering... I did put her pajamas on when she went to bed! I don't think she would have been very comfortable in the princess dress!

Hand Shake...

Libby just came up to me and shook my hand and said, "How ya doin?" It didn't come out exactly like that, but I could definitely make out what she was saying..... What in the world?? My 2 year old just shook my hand and said, "How ya doin?"...... I was speechless! I couldn't help but laugh! Of course I waited until she left the room to start laughing, because she gets VERY upset if you are laughing at her! That's a big no no in this house.... Nolen and I learned our lesson the hard way! We laughed at her one time, and she SCREAMED and cried like crazy! So, we no longer laugh at her, and it is very hard not to laugh sometimes! Anyway.... Back to the hand shaking. This has Anderson Neighbors written all over it! Every time we are with Anderson he sometimes, if not always shakes her hand, and says something like, "How are you doing Libby?" (Just teasing of course) I guess she finally picked up on it! Ha! Next time we see Anderson she'll have to give him a hand shake! Until then.... We'll be practicing on that hand shake! :)
