a beautiful weekend

This weekend has gotten me in full spring fever mode! I'm not a fan of dreary winters. {even though it's been a mild one so far.} Lets hope spring isn't cold!

Saturday we went to Chewacla State Park. It was just too pretty to be inside. I can't wait till we have a big{ger} yard for Libby to run and play for hours on. We walked on some easy trails along Chewacla lake.

We went to the little park near the parking area, and we saw a sweet ballet friend!

I think it's safe to say I have an addiction to my camera... Didn't realize I took that many pictures! :-)

We spent the rest of the weekend on walks around the neighborhood in the wagon and jumping on our old neighbors trampoline! I have a feeling we will be making a lot of trips to their trampoline. She loves it! :-)

our {rainy} weekend

Saturday was supposed to be race day for me, but because of bad weather {tornado warning} it was postponed until Sunday. It was nasty on Saturday, so Libby and I decided to get out of the house to go see Beauty and the Beast 3D. Daddy stayed at home for this one and watched Auburn bastketball. :)

Notice the LOVELY stickers on the window?? I used to think people who let their kids put stickers on their cars window was dirty. NOW I'm that person. Ah! I am going to pull out some windex and get them off soon b/c there driving me crazy!
When the movie started I knew something was wrong... It wasn't in 3D. Well, about 5 minutes into the movie it shut off and started over again IN 3D!! I'm sure Libby was thinking "What's up with these glasses... they don't work!" She kept taking them off... No wonder! And I was just thinking, "man I hope the 3D didn't cost more b/c this is NOT 3D!" Anyway...

****************************************************

Sunday was RACE DAY! It started at 7:30, so I got there about 20 minutes early. I didn't want to wait around and get myself worked up. {get there and go without being able to think about it is what I like.} It was so foggy and wet.

The first 3 miles were a breeze. I was feeling good and felt like I could go forever. Miles 4 and 5 I could feel my legs were getting tired. I was just trying to pace myself and not worry about the time. Since I'm very new to the whole racing thing, my goals are to FINISH right now. I'll worry about improving my time later!

My time was the 1:09:20. Felt so good to finish!

After the race we went to breakfast at Panera. Celebrating 6.2 miles!

It felt so good to finish something that I've been practicing for a few months now. I don't know what's next, but I think I want to do some more 5k and 10k races in the future! MAYBE someday there will be a half-marathon in the books. We'll see!

happy rainy monday!

calling cards + winter afternoons

2 different topics... here we go!

Pinterest is such a great tool for finding pretty much anything under the sun. {it may be so ADDICTING, but it sure does have some positives to it!} One of my favorite things I have found is all the CUTE printables. There are TONS of great {and super cute} printables out there. I found these scalloped blank cards that you can customize. I used photoshop to add name, etc. I thought they turned out pretty cute!

I was running low on calling cards for Libby, so I'm really glad I found this option!

If only I  knew that my color ink was running low they would have turned out better! OH well... next time! Moving on to the next topic...

**********************
Winter afternoons can be tricky. We have been braving the cold the past few afternoons. Libby has been begging to go outside right when we get home lately. {like we walk in the back door and out the front door!}

SO much energy! She goes non-stop!

While she plays this is what I do...

This picture is from another afternoon this week. Can you tell the huge difference in temperature?? She refused to wear an undershirt. At least it wasn't freezing!

t-minus 2 days until the race.... i'm getting nervous! say a prayer on saturday morning for me! :)

good morning

good morning! my alarm went off at 5:50 AM this morning... never easy to wake up that early especially in the dark. I so wanted to hit snooze, but I was meeting my neighbor outside my front door at 6:30 for a 3 mile run. {we were actually pretty much on the same speed. except she's preggo and I'm not! Not sure if that makes me look bad or not.} That's exactly why I set up these running "dates". I would have hit the snooze button if I didn't have to meet someone. I just have to make myself call someone the night before! It's one of my weaknesses. I'm working on it!

I mentioned a few posts back that I'm running in a 10k. Well, it's THIS coming weekend. I'm a little nervous. Hopefully I'll have good news to report on Saturday after the race!

Yesterday Libby was out of school for MLK day. Her sweet friend Tucker came over yesterday afternoon. They played and played and played! We set up the roller coaster on a hill in our front yard. They thought it was so fun!

Tucker seems a little unsure about Libby pushing him down the ramp! ha!

They did spin art and finger paint. I went to fold some laundry for a minute, and they had it all over their hands. Crazy kiddos!

They ended the day with a picnic in the front yard! Fun times with a sweet friend. Libby sure did sleep good after a FULL day of fun!

have a great day :-)

new years eve day

These pictures are about 2 weeks late. I've been working on some of my goals for the new year, raising a four-year-old {when the weather has been rainy and cold lately}, so blogging has been on the back burner.

**********************

When we were at the lake for new years eve I took some pictures of Libby outside. I was playing around with all of the white balance settings and shooting mainly on manual. {which can be tricky at times!} I've been shooting on AV mode for a while now and decided to {try} to move on up to manual. I also edited most of these pictures in photoshop. I'm slowly, but surely figuring out all the terms and how everything works.

I thought they turned out pretty good. And Libby picked out her outfit all by herself... The sweat shirt was a little too small, the orange pants were a little too baggy and the pink crocs didn't match at. all. Oh well--- she liked it and that's all that matters! :)

Have a great monday!
