the big 6-0

{I am once again behind on my posting! Summer is here if you can't tell!!}

Last weekend we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday at the lake! I must say... he doesn't look or act 60! It's true 60 is the new 40! We celebrated Friday night at my parents house, then on Saturday we went to SpringHouse for dinner. My Mom got a sitter for the kiddos, while we went to dinner. We went by boat, and much to my Dad's surprise, he had a little surprise waiting for him on the way to dinner.

Some of my parent's best friends! We tied up boats and toasted to my Dad! It was fun! Then we left for our 8:15 dinner reservation at SH.

My Dad with his 3 kids and 2 spouses! Blessed.

Sunday we went to brunch at SpringHouse with my grandparents {my dad's parents}. We ate twice at SH in just 12 hours. We were spoiled! Gran with her two great- grands-- Libby and Hugh.

soccer camp

A few weeks ago Libby did a soccer camp through the city with two sweet friends. This was her first go at soccer, and I think she really liked it! I am so glad we did this as a little "test run". I think we are going to try city league this fall now that I know she will like it!

Here are some pictures I got on the last day of camp!

lately

Hi!!!! I am so behind on keeping up with our life on this blog. The month of June has been busy! We have had busy mornings the past few weeks, which are followed by lunch/rest time/pool time/play time/clean time/making a mess time.

Let me catch you up on all we have been doing...
  • Libby finished her swim lessons! We spent every evening for 2 weeks {M-F.. we were pretty excited when it was over!} at the AU Aquatics Center pool at the end of May. She did great, and has made big improvements since then at our neighborhood pool.

  • Speaking of the pool--We have spent a lot of time there. We either try to go in the morning or middle of the afternoon. It doesn't ware her out as much as it did last year, but it helps! The Lib is jumping all by herself in the water too! Woo hoo!  She has finally realized that she CAN do it by herself. I have a feeling if we spend even more time at the pool this summer she will be SO close to swimming on her own.

  • The week after Memorial Day, Libby did 3 days of youth cheer camp at AHS. She loved it! I knew this would be right up her alley! The last day they did a show for the parents. I had charged my camera , changed the lens, then walked right out the door with no camera in hand. Thanks to sweet friends for taking some pictures of my girl, and my trusty iPhone did a pretty good job too. :) {I have some videos I'll post later!}

  •  We also FINALLY got around to making our summer fun list. We did this last year, and we both loved it! It definitely made our summer more intentional and fun! We still have a little room to add to our list, so if you have any ideas let me know!! :-)
IMG_2047 That's all for right now!! I'll post pictures from soccer camp last week soon. Have a great day!!
