Spring Teaser

This weekend was a total teaser for spring! I am so over winter, and I was so happy to see the sun come out at the temps go up! When Nolen saw the forecast for the weekend he immediately made plans to play golf at the lake. We hadn't been home since Christmas, so it was nice to go enjoy the beautiful weekend at the most beautiful place... the lake!

We went Friday late afternoon and came back Saturday afternoon. Short, but nice getaway! Saturday while Nolen played golf we made our rounds around town. Bessie's to Cloud Nine to see Sasa to Gran and Pop's then back to the lake. While we were at Gran and Pop's we took advantage of their big backyard.

WARNING! THERE ARE A LOT OF PICTURES!!!

Gotta have a pink bat to go with the princess ball!

Thankful for beautiful days like these... Even though it's a teaser for spring!

Printables on Rue

I love the online design magazines, Lonny and Rue. Such great inspiration without taking up space and money. Although you can now buy Lonny {it's a pretty penny though, for a magazine at least}. While I was browsing through Rue's Jan/Feb issue. I noticed they had a download section. Turns out there is some pretty good stuff in there. Invitations, labels, tags, etc.

This is my favorite download: It has the invitation AND coasters that you can print on card stock paper. Not very durable, but you could lamanate? spelling?

Just a little happy I thought I would share.

Happy weekend!

Candy Land

Libby is at the perfect age where we can play (some) board games. Sasa and Who gave her Candy Land for Christmas, and she has loved playing it!

While we were in Arizona Libby and Sasa played everyday. So when we came back home she insisted that we play Candy Land.

Every time she draws a card she gets so excited. Even if she just moves up one spot!

And I'll let her win any day to see this excitement after she wins! Such a happy little girl

I love it when we find new things to play and it being a huge success!

Championship Celebration

Saturday we went to the National Championship Celebration. It was so cold, but we managed to find seats that were right in the sun. I've heard different numbers, but I think around 70,000+ people were there.

The field quickly went from this....

to this...

Libby loved it!  This weather isn't good for the hair situation though. Lots of static.

"... every body's hands go UP... and they stay there..."

The celebration was so fun! It's hard to summarize it, but it was the perfect celebration for a National Championship win. Cam Newton's speech was one of the highlights in my opinion. He did an awesome job!

There's no other place I would want to live right now than Auburn, Alabama. It's a special town, and now even more special with a National Championship. Now Libby will always be able to say I lived in Auburn when we were National Champions! How fun!

And as you can see Libby had some influence in her outfit for the day. Pink Auburn sweatshirt, green pants, cowgirl boots and pearls. And of course a bow is a must!

A Good Soup Recipe

I stumbled across foodgawker the other day. (Seems like a website where people just link up different recipes from there blog.) I found this recipe that looked so delicious and perfect for the cold months. Chipotle Tomato Soup. It is super easy and pretty tasty too. Ours was a little too spicy (Nolen snuck in some extra hot sauce), but I feel it would have been perfect without it.

Here is the recipe:

Chiptole Tomato Soup

Organization- Project 1

I'm sure everybody has the same New Years Resolution has me... get organized! This seems to be an on going NYR for me. {And I'm sure it will continue to be.} I'm going to try and document my progress in trying to be a more organized person. I'm not going to set myself up for failure and say I'll share once a week, twice a week or every two weeks, but I'm going to try my best to keep it going. This will just help me keep accountable.

My first project was very simple, and I'm so embarrassed I haven't done it yet. Organize the DVDs.  We have cases and cds stacked in random places in the house.

I've decided to just do away with the cases and get a file for all the DVDs.

It has made such a difference. So when Libby asks if she can watch Tinkerbelle {or whatever} I'll know exactly where it is... right in my file!

Libby update coming soon! Just got to find the time...

Happy Tuesday!

Arizona

We are back! Trying to get back in the swing of things, and spending all my extra time with Libby. Reason why the blog has been neglected! This trip was the longest I've gone without Libby. I was pretty sad when we left, but got the hang of being sans child for a few days. We left Atlanta Friday night putting us in Phoenix way past my bedtime. We were so glad to be there though after a 4 hour plane ride.

Saturday we woke up to beautiful blue skies! {These pictures were taken through the window while we were driving- reason why there kind of blurry.)

We headed out to Sedona late Saturday morning. The drive was beautiful!

Nolen felt that it was needed to lead the road full of Auburn fans with a big WAR EAGLE!

We drove through Sedona. Very pretty!

We ended up going on the Flagstaff too. The desert quickly turned into snowy grounds the further north we went.

I am scared to death of heights... reason why I'm practically sitting on Nolen.

After being on the rode all day we went back to the hotel and freshened up for dinner. We ate in Scottsdale {where everything was going on}.

After dinner we went to the field that was set up for Oregon and Auburn fans in town. There was a band, bar and tents with way over priced memorabilia.   I noticed a BCS pull over jacket thing was $100. No way!

Sunday Nolen and Mr. Tom had a early wake up call for golf. Mrs. Beth and I hung out with Amy and Lewis {Nolen's aunt and uncle}. We ate lunch then went to Scottsdale where all the action was.

There were so many Auburn fans out there! The pep rally was so much fun. Got everyone pumped up! Mr. Tom and Nolen weren't able to make it to the pep rally because of golf, so we met them at a Italian restaurant after the pep rally for drinks.

We went out to dinner with Amy and Lewis Sunday night. The restaurant served DUCK, so we thought it would be funny to order some. Ended up that they sold out of duck! Hilarious, right? Our waiter made special arrangements and was able to get us some duck for an appetizer.

* Mrs. Beth has some hilarious pictures we took with the duck. Coming soon!

After dinner we went back to Scottsdale.  Nolen and his Dad played a little football, then a Oregon fan jumped in with them and Nolen dominated!

On Monday we headed to Glendale for the BIG game. It was packed with Oregon and Auburn football fans.

After running into some friends we went and hung out at Margaritaville...

Mr. Tom and Lewis

Then we went to gate 3 where Tiger Walk was supposed to be, but it was so crowded they had to cancel.

After waiting in the longest line of people we finally got in the stadium.

There were definitely more Auburn fans...

We were so nervous and anxious during the whole game. I nearly had a heart attack when Oregon scored at the end of the game. But thank goodness for Wes Byrum for kicking the winning field goal! What a special moment for him!

National Champs and it feels so good!!

We had an absolute blast in Arizona! So many fun memories were made.

I am so proud of my school and town!

WAR EAGLE!!
