T-Swift comes to AU!

Ok, what I'm about to type is so funny! Well, I don't know if funny is the right word, but it's crazy nonetheless. Taylor Swift made a surprise visit to Auburn today! Random, huh? It just so happened that a group of friends that go to Auburn made a website... www.ahugfromtaylorswift.com. I'm not sure how the whole story goes, but basically Taylor Swift finds this website and sends the group who made this website a video. She ask them to do several different challenges that have to do with the number 13. I guess 13 is her lucky number? If they completed all these challenges, then she said she would come to Auburn to give them a hug and a private concert.

Well, they completed all these things she asked them to do,and she flew down to Auburn today to put on a private concert at the Auburn Conference Center downtown.

Ok, so that's pretty cool, but it gets even better. The guys and one of the girls in the video were at Byron's last Thursday morning. (Nolen and I had a breakfast date while Libby was at school) and we sat beside them!! How crazy is that? I mean of all the 23,000 students at Auburn we sit by them! I just thought it was so crazy! Watch this video to see what all the challenges were. It's a pretty cool video!

The "private" concert started at 2 o'clock, and I rode by the Conference center at about 3:45 after class.  So, I had just missed Miss T-Swift! Nolen called me to tell me about the "big" news right when I was riding by the Conference Center, but it was too late. I so would have stopped if she was there. Something about meeting a famous person is just exciting to me!

Remember to watch the video, it's pretty cool!

Anna's Having a Baby!

Last Wednesday night Libby and I went to the lake for Anna's baby shower. It was such a fun night! I had not seen Anna since September, and I was so excited to finally see her cute baby bump! :-) She's the cutest mommy to be out there! Here are some pictures from the shower.

Anna and Elisabeth... These are the only girls in Nolen's family (cousins at least). Seriously, all the rest of his cousins on both sides are boys. Good thing we got another girl coming into the family! :-) I have a feeling our kids generation is going to be full of girls!
UGA dress for Baby L.
Some of the ladies at the shower...

This pictures purpose is to show you the cupcakes on the table. They were made by the wonderful cook Sandy Thompson, a good friend of my parents and a cousin of Nolen's. They were heavenly!
Libby and Elisabeth playing together! We sure have missed Elisabeth!
Libby put on the hat that the bear had on.. I didn't get a picture of the bear on my camera, but Nan had a centerpiece made with flowers and a teddy bear dressed in baby L's first tennis outfit!
How cute is that? It's a paper bag that is painted! So creative. I think someone got them at market in ATL.
I am so excited for Anna and Bebo! I can't wait to meet there little fire cracker baby very soon!

Friday Night

Last night we decided to do a little grilling out just the 3 of us. We haven't been home for a Friday night all month, so it was so nice to actually be here for once! The best part... Nolen did all of the cooking! It was so nice to just sit back and relax and let him do the cooking! He cooked some good ole burgers, corn and a salad. It was delish! :-) Here is a picture of the cook working hard.

While Nolen cooked Libby had fun running around.

She was really interested in watching Nolen cook on the grill, which scared the you know what out of me! No one was harmed though, thank goodness!

And then a very monumental moment happened.... Libby ate the corn!! I had to get this on camera, because it rarely happens that she eats a vegetable!

This is the only vegetable Libby will touch. I kept telling her that it was sweet like candy and it WORKED! I guess you could say she eats other vegetables that I puree, but she just doesn't know she's eating it! :-)

After dinner we made a special trip to Tutti Frutti. This is like Yogurt Mountain for all you that don't live in Auburn. It is so yummy! You get to fix your own cup. There are about 1o different flavored yogurts and you can choose your own toppings. It's pretty good I have to say. After we got our yogurt we walked across the street to this pretty building...

If you can't see that's Samford Hall. My flash wasn't working right so that's why it's so dark. I know most of you know what Samford Hall looks like so, no need to explain how beautiful it is! If you haven't seen Samford Hall well, then you just need to come to Auburn and see for yourself! :-)

Libby enjoying her strawberry and vanilla yogurt with sprinkles of course!

Our time at Samford Hall was short lived because it was starting to rain, so we had to take a mad rush to the car. Before we left we had to get a picture in front of the Auburn University sign. Notice how Libby is not looking in any of these pictures. She was really enjoying her yogurt!

We had such a great time together as a family. It's so nice to just have a relaxing night together with nothing to do. Because this rarely happens during the week for us. I guess that's what you get when you have busy schedules!

Hope everyone is enjoying this rainy Saturday!

Beach (Part 2)

Day 2 on the beach was so much fun for Libby! She got comfortable with the water, and had a blast! She laughed every time the waves came in. It was so too cute. Her laugh was priceless!

Then Papa T and Daddy came in and made it even more fun!

I think these pictures below speak for themselves. She was in heaven! She's definitely a beach girl.

Then we tried to get a family picture... She was having to much fun to slow down to take a picture though!

Then, she slowed down to get a quick picture.

We had a great time at the beach! We just wished it wasn't such a short trip. Thanks Papa and Bessie!

Beach (Part 1)

We made a last minute decision to take a quick trip to the beach this past weekend. Nolen's parents were going down for a few days, so we joined them. We got to the beach on Friday night. (It took longer than we thought, because we took some crazy directions), but we finally got there!

Libby was so good the whole ride. She didn't even ask to go potty! Which I was shocked, and I kind of forgot to ask because Nolen and I were making sure we didn't get lost in the dark! We were in the car for almost 5 hours. She must have a big-o bladder! :-)

Libby was so excited when we got there. She had been talking about it all week. So she was happy to finally get to the beach.

We went to the beach Saturday morning. Libby loved it. She wasn't so sure about the water (totally different story on the day 2), but loved the sand.

Then the lifeguard brought a Little Mermaid float for her! She loved it! Especially because it had a princess on it.

Then she finally got brave and went in the water with the float... The water was a little chilly!

We had a great first day at the beach. I totally recommend going in mid-April if you have little kiddos. The weather was perfect. Not too hot, but just warm enough.

Next post= Day 2 at the beach .

Be prepared to witness the happiest little girl you've ever seen!

Happy Monday!

Today

Libby and I are just loving this weather!! It's amazing how beautiful weather can put you in such a good mood. We have been outside getting dirty all morning and afternoon. She is out cold on the couch right now she played so hard.

This morning I thought I would try to plant some herbs in a pot. My parents have a herb garden, and I love the fact that they can have fresh herbs right on hand if they needed them. So, I thought I would try the same thing. We'll see how it goes though!

Libby was a great helper. She's so girly, but she doesn't mind putting her hands in some dirt! She got a little tired of playing with the dirt, so she set up her own little tea party. It wasn't really a "tea" party though. She only served yogurt.

Then she played with some chalk.... Don't you love how she just dumps everything out! :-)

Then we moved on to water the plants. I think our plants are good to go on water for like a month! She just didn't want to stop. Watering plants is just too much fun for a 3 year old!

Not too happy about getting wet... My tennis shoes were soaked because she kept waving the hose around.

Then our neighbor Lilly and her Mommy came over to use our swing, and we ended up bringing out the water table! They had so much fun playing. I can't believe how big Libby looked around Lilly. Of course Libby is almost 2 years older, but it just seems like Libby should be the one that's one and a half.

Libby loved prancing around in her new swimsuit. She danced around like a ballerina. She kept asking to go to the beach, but I was sad to tell her that we don't have a "beach" here like at Sasa and Bessie's. But... We are going to the real beach this weekend!! Libby is so excited, but of course telling her that we aren't leaving until Friday doesn't mean at thing to her. She wanted to get in the car right then and leave. I wouldn't mind doing that though! ;-)

We are leaving on Friday afternoon to go to the beach with Nolen's parents! We are excited about getting away for a few days. Only 1 month from graduation!!
