Pensacola Trip (A Little Late)

This is a very late Pensacola trip post. (I just now got the pictures.)

We went to Pensacola the second weekend in September. We had two big celebrations while we were there. Mimi's 90th birthday party and Lucy's Baptism. It was a fun trip filled with a lot of good family time!

We got there Friday night. We all at at Cille and Dan Dan's house. Libby and McColl had so much fun playing!

Saturday morning we hung out at Cheryl's house. Libby fell off the swing after this picture. So, we had a rough start to our day...

She had a big goose egg on her head, but she was feeling much better when we got to Mimi's.
We had a nice lunch at Azalea Trace (where Mimi's lives).

All of Mimi's grandkids (and spouses) and 3 great-granddaughters, Libby, McColl and Lucy.

We had such a good lunch with Mimi! She wasn't feeling too good at first, but I think we got her feeling better. :-)

Sunday was Lucy's Baptism. She is the cutest and sweetest baby girl! She did so good.

The Mitchem's- Bill, Katherine, McColl and Lucy

The Mitchem's with  Lucy's Godparents

After the Baptism we went to lunch at Pensacola Country Club.

Lucy is wearing the gown that all of the girls in my family were Baptized in (including Katie, Libby and I) It started with my mom 57 years ago!

It's a beautiful gown, and Lucy looked precious in it!

McColl, Nolen and Libby after lunch... McColl is wearing her dessert on her pretty dress and Libby's wearing her dessert on her face. :-)

It was so much fun getting to go to Pensacola to celebrate these two special people! Can't wait to go back very soon!

Trick or Treat & Trunk or Treat

Yesterday we started the Halloween festivities! We went to the 10th annual Downtown Halloween celebration. And I don't think it's going to be an annual thing anymore for our family. It was WAY too crowded. Everybody and their Mama was there. It didn't help that Libby had fallen asleep at 5 o'clock and it started at 6. Nolen doesn't get home from work until 6 anyway, so we just planned on being a little late. We'll we were about an hour late. Libby woke up and didn't want to have anything to do with her costume.    Bless her she was just so tired. We had to talk her into putting her costume on to go "trick or treating". She finally gave in. Thank goodness!

Walking to downtown (she didn't want to wear her pink SS wig)

Getting excited...

The lines were SO long. We stood in one line for about 15 minutes and weren't making much progress. So we decided to go walk around a bit and hit a few spots.

The tables to the left were filled with Auburn Athletes giving autographs. It was super crowded so we just watched.

Excited after she got a first piece of candy from Miss Auburn!

Family photo... It had been a long day.

We watched the band for a little bit, then called in a night.

We had to get home and finish things for Libby's school Trunk-or-Treat.

I went the healthier route and got mini cans of play-doh as her gift to her friends.

I thought they turned out pretty cute!

Today we had Libby's school Trunk-or-Treat. Libby has been so excited about it, but this morning wasn't feeling like dressing up as Strawberry Shortcake. She wanted to dress up as Pinkalicious. (We read that book almost everyday!) Fine with me! She picked out her pink tu-tu and I got her pink leggings and a white turtleneck to wear since it was cold outside. Then she got her wand and butterfly wings. She was happy! If she's happy I'm happy! :-)

The party started at 10 o'clock so I had some time to go home and figure out what my trunk was going to look like. This is what I came up with...

Didn't really think about the wind blowing my sign everywhere though.

All the kids started off at the other parking lot where the jumping house was...

Libby didn't want to jump with all those crazy kids. So she and her friend Avery hung out.

Then we went trunk-or-treating... Libby's favorite!

And yes I know Libby's wings are on upside down.. ;-)

Libby got her face painted too...

And played some games...

Then everybody went inside for snack time.

Saying the blessing...

My sweet girl

Everybody enjoying their snack.

Libby's favorite costume was Mrs. Carmello's. She was the princess from the Princess and the Frog. (Mrs. Rich was the frog.)

You would think Libby would be worn out, but that's not the case at all! We're about to go outside and burn of some of this ENERGY!

Happy Friday!

Pumpkins

Pumpkins have been on our minds a lot this month. I finally got my act together and went to the Farmers Market and got Libby some "baby" pumpkins to paint. This is her absolute favorite Halloween activity (except trick or treating).

Libby has a very unique painting method... Dip the paintbrush in every color, then paint the pumpkin.

While I was there we got 2 big pumpkins to carve. We needed Daddy to help with this activity.

The finished product at the front door. A very rough carving...

Libby making her best scary face!

Libby is ready for Halloween to say the least.

Can't wait to give the recap on Halloween 2010!

Auburn vs. LSU

WOOHOO! Another big win for the #1 team!!

The game was fun, crazy and exciting.... except for the rude LSU fans. When we got home Nolen told me that Lebron James had just tweeted "Cam Newton. One word "MONSTER"

And I think I'm going to have to agree.

WAR EAGLE!

William Henry Lamberth

William Henry Lamberth

This precious baby boy was born October 21 at 9:53 PM weighing 7lbs. 12oz. A very special day for the Lamberth's. The same birthday as Libby and Henry's great-grandmother Tonson. I know she would be so proud!

Nolen, Libby and I went to Atlanta Friday afternoon to see Henry. Libby was so excited about seeing her new baby cousin Henry. She was so sweet talking about him on the ride up to Atlanta.

He is SO sweet and precious! He slept the whole time we were there... Opening his eyes for only a second. Reminds me of when Libby was born. Such an exciting time!

Libby loves him so much! She blew him lots of kisses and gave him a sweet hug.

I can't tell who he looks like, but he definitely has Kasi's blonde hair. Nothing is sweeter than a precious newborn. I wanted to take him home with me. :-)

It's amazing how much you can love a baby that's not even yours. I can't wait to see him grow up! And Libby really can't wait for him to grow up so she can play with him and hold him.

We love you baby Henry!

Fab Finds

The Auburn/Opelika area has a BIG semi-annual consignment sell. One in the Fall and one in the Spring. Last time I went it was a little over a year ago, and it was in a non air condition building. It was mesirable, and I didn't feel like picking through all the junk!

This year since I heard there was AC I thought I would check out what they had.

OH- It was so much easier to see things! I went straight the the "smocked" rack and found the cutest dress...

taken with my phone--- This dress came in at $20 (excellent condition too!)

and I found this right beside it...

this dress came in at $7... It doesn't have the right monogram, but I found a way to take it out. (from another blog)

this is probably so incorrect, but it worked!

front

back

I simply got a razor (that hadn't been used) and started "shaving" the back of the monogram.

I also used a seam stripper.

It worked! Now I've just got to take it and get Libby's monogram on it!

Such an easy thing! So don't be afraid to buy something with the wrong monogram on it.

My favorite consignment online shop is:

They have a lot of cute fine children's clothing (some with monograms on them).

Check it out!

And I've been hearing that Auburn is getting a new kids consignment store. I hope this is true!

Happy Thursday!
