These Two

Are so sweet.

And a mess.

And if they were old enough...

They'd probably get married.

Thank goodness they have A LOT of years before that happens. {Like out of college years.}

Have a happy Thursday!!! It's almost the weekend. Woohoo!

Banana and Strawberry popsicles

We made banana and strawberry popsicles with some of our strawberries. It was seriously so easy. As easy as boiling an egg. We got the recipe off of foodgawker. If you haven't checked it out, you should. It's amazing, and so inspiring to cook new/fun things.

A good, cooling and healthy snack. Now I feel better about Libby wanting to consume 10 popsicles a day.  Have a happy, happy Tuesday!

Strawberry Picking

Last Tuesday Libby and I went with our playgroup to Dempsey Farms to pick strawberries. It was a cold and windy day. Not the best weather for picking strawberries. Alabama weather is so crazy!

Libby didn't care though, she loved picking all the strawberries. Purple ruffle cardigan, hot pink ruffle pants, cowgirl boots and all. We got one bucket to fill. Libby could have easily filled 2 buckets to they very tip top. She LOVED it!

We might be going back too. Can't beat a big bucket of strawberries for $9! And Libby and Nolen said they were the best. Sweet and juicy. {I wouldn't know because I don't eat strawberries. I know I'm a weirdo!}

When we got home we washed them and Libby had a hand full {or 2} of them for lunch. We also put these strawberries to good use for a yummy afternoon snack. Check back tomorrow to see what we made.

Embracing the Camera {and Silliness}

I have the silliest child. Is that a word?

We were playing on photo booth today, trying to get a good picture of us for e.t.c day. She was cracking me up! She was definitely in silly mode. I don't think I got one normal picture of us. She was THAT silly.

I wish I could say this picture had "enhancements" on it, but it was all na-tu-ral.

That's all. It's my bedtime. Seriously though, I've been making record bedtimes this week. As early as 8 or 8:30. But the mornings are SO much easier... It's amazing what a full nights sleep will do to you.

Hope everyone had a FANTASTIC {as Lib would say} day!!!

Picnic

Libby and I had a picnic a few days ago at Hickory Dickory. It was really hot {what a difference a few days make!} so our time was short. We enjoyed a yummy lunch under a shady tree that we made at home.

I was getting tired of the same ole' sandwich. I now get flatbread at the grocery, so I can make a wrap. Add some hummus, spinach, mustard and peppered turkey, and you've got a delicious wrap that makes you think you bought it somewhere else besides your kitchen.

Libby enjoyed some coloring too.

It was a nice little change of scenery from our usual lunch routine. Happy Wednesday!

Chapel

I almost forgot to post about Libby's BIG role at Chapel a few weeks ago. She was the Bible carrier. BIG deal in the preschool world. Each class has a different "responsibility" for Chapel. Libby's class carries the Bible, and it was her turn to carry it.

She did so great!! She smiled all the way down the isle, and put the Bible on the table. We had a special visitor {Bessie} come to watch, so she did especially good.

Chapel is about a 10-15 minute service that they have for the 3 and 4 year old classes every Monday. They sing songs, listen to a message and they celebrate and sing to anyone who has a birthday. It really is a sweet service. I can't go through the "birthday" song they sing without having a little tear in my eye. Even with kids I don't really know.

We are really going to miss this next year. Maybe we will sneak in some. :-)

P.S.- And we would like to give a very special shout-out to Aunt Katie today. Happy, happy birthday!!! WE LOVE YOU!!

Last day of Preschool

Last Wednesday and Thursday were Libby's official last days of 3-year-old preschool! She was so sad to leave her sweet teachers and friends, but we are more than excited about summer break! Wednesday was her last day at AUMC. She will not be going back next year. We made a tough decision on where to go for 4-year-old preschool, and we just couldn't pass up the oppurtunity to go to the H.A.P.I.E program at AEEC. It is such a great program, and will be just what she needs to get ready for Kindergarten next year. {I'm already emotional about Kindergarten and it's about a year away!}

Libby's class had a "Sundae" party on their last day. It was SO hot!! The kids didn't mind though. They had so much fun playing on the playground and eating their sundaes.

Here is Libby with her sweet teachers Mrs. Carmello and Mrs. Bellhorn. {The other little girl is Mrs.C's daughter, Avery} They are seriously the SWEETEST teachers! We are going to miss them so much. We are already planning our visits for next year.

Some of Libby's sweet friends.

Libby and best friend, Avery B. Avery was a little distracted with her paddle ball.

Telling Mrs. Nancy {the Director} bye! We are going to miss her so much too!

I can't believe Libby has finished 2 years of preschool. Before we know it she's going to be a freshman at Auburn! {That one was for Nolen! :)} Tear...

Where did Spring go?

It's been in the mid to high 80s {even 90s} lately, and I keep wondering if spring weather is ever coming back. Thankfully this weekend/week is looking nice. To stay cool {and avoid being inside all day} we have been finding ways to be outside and not be sweating to death.

We've been at the pool A LOT. The water hasn't gotten like bath water yet, so we can still enjoy it.

We've been using our flower sprinkler in the yard. It is so much fun! Uncle T happened to be with us the first afternoon we played with the sprinkler. He and Aunt Amber {it's official now!} were in town for a wedding.

I absolutely love this picture! PURE JOY and HAPPINESS.

And we have eaten A LOT of popsicles.

Happy, happy weekend! I hope you enjoy this nice weather. I'm sure the heat will be back sooner rather than later.

Easter Weekend

Sorry for the delay on this post. Time on the computer is limited with a 4-year- old sometimes, and I just got some of the pictures off my parents camera. Anyway...  Here is the recap on our Easter weekend. We headed to the lake Friday around lunch time to take full advantage of the beautiful day. We laid out by the pool and went on a boat ride. Libby loves boat rides. I see a lot of boat rides happening this summer!

Saturday we went to the annual Willow Point Easter Egg hunt. Libby was going for quality instead of quantity. If she didn't like the color she would throw it out of her basket.

Sunday the Easter bunny left  a lot of goodies! 2 baskets at Sasa and Who's house. And one at Bessie's and Papa's house.

We then went to TWO church services. My parent's church and Nolen's parent's church. It was interesting to say the least. Libby laid on the floor for the majority of the time at Nolen's parent's church. She got her church in that day! After church we ate at the club with my family and Nolen's parents. We ate way too much, but it was fun having everyone together! And I'm so sad to say, but we didn't get a single picture of the 3 of us. I've got to start remembering these things!

I did get a picture of Nolen and me though...

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend spent with family and friends. I'm am so thankful that we serve an amazing God!

Mother's Day

Hello! I hope every Mother had a great Mother's Day! I couldn't have asked for a better day with Nolen and Libby. I feel so blessed to be a Mommy, especially to this sweet girl. Sometimes I still can't believe I'm this girls MOMMY!

Wow.

Libby surprised me with the sweetest card that she made at school for me. She was so proud of it! It was the most perfect card I've ever seen.

Friday I got some flowers sent to me from my sweet husband. I wasn't expecting it at all. I figured that was the last thing on his mind at work. They are so beautiful, and they make me smile everytime I walk by them.

We spent all day at the pool and playing in the yard. It was the perfect FAMILY day! Just what I wanted.

Hope to be back soon!

Nashville

This past weekend my family and I went to visit my sister, Katie. She moved to Nashville about a year and a half ago. We haven't been to see her new town since she moved, {except Mom and Dad}. So, Friday we made the 4 and a half hour drive to Tennessee. Thank goodness for LeapFrog games and Barbie for providing plenty of entertainment.

If you can't tell, she is in her "princess" dress. She watched the Royal wedding that morning at Bessie's house, and of course she HAD to dress like a princess.

Libby and I stayed at Katie's cute bungalow while in Nashville.

Friday night we went to Midtown Cafe. It was so good! Katie showed us around downtown after dinner. It was a big honky tonk party. Libby thought she was in a parade.

Saturday we went to Franklin, a cute town about 20 minutes from Nashville. On the way we passed Martina McBrides house and some other country music stars and writers. We didn't realize it, but Franklin had a big art festival going on, so it was so crowded! We walked around to some stores.

Libby modeled in a clothing store window while shopping.

Saturday night we went to another great restaurant, Cafe Nonna. It was so good! I can't wait to go back.
The whole family {Sad we are missing Nolen. Next trip he is coming!} outside of Cafe Nonna.

Thanks for having us Katie! It was so much fun seeing where you live. Can't wait to come back!
