russell forest run

I ran in the Russell Forest run this past Saturday with my Mom at Lake Martin. She walked the 10k and I ran the 5k. {I hope to be as in shape and cool as my mom when I'm 58.} :-) This was my first year doing the race {my mom's 3rd}, and I can't wait to do it again next year! I had heard the course was really tough, so I opted for the 5k.

After the race they had a lot of yummy food at the Stables, then we continued the celebration with bloody mary's at Springhouse. Here are some pictures from the morning... Wish I would have gotten more pics, but it's hard to talk and take pictures at the same time. :-)

second annual winter beach trip

Yesterday, we got back from the second- annual- winter- beach- trip with the Lamberths in Blue Mountain beach. We were there for four days, and it was so fun and relaxing! {we just wish Thomas and Amber could have been there... next year!}

We left Saturday afternoon {which was the worst possible time to leave might I add!} It rained the whole way down... Libby was highly annoyed with the loud rain.

I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.  I took a ton of pictures, so there will be little words. I don't want it to take you an hour to read this post! :-)

SUNDAY

The first thing Libby wanted to do when we got down to the beach was make sand angels!

After lunch these two had fun playing across the road in this patch of gravel. It's true...Kids can have fun anywhere!

we went to rosemary beach to explore a little bit. too bad lib was in a grumpy mood!

day trip

We went on a little day trip Wednesday with our friend Tucker and his mama. We couldn't make it to his birthday party this past weekend, so we thought we would continue the celebration by going to Callaway Gardens. I forget how close we are to C.G. It took no longer than 30-35 minutes. So easy!

Even better, the month of January and February is free. Nice, huh? We went to the butterfly house, feed the geese and walked a few trails. They loved it!

We lucked out on the weather.... It wasn't too cold or hot, and the sun was out! Next time we will pack our bikes and ride some trails!
