Last Days of Summer

Libby and I are trying to use up our last few weeks of summer wisely. We've been hitting the pool a few afternoons a week. It's so nice because all the "big" kids in the neighborhood are in school, so it's usually just Libby and me. We usually pack a lunch then swim for a few hours. Makes for a tired child that will gladly turn herself in at her bedtime. :-) Oh so nice for the Mommy!

We have also played at other pools with friends. Fun switching things up a bit. The day after school started Emily invited Libby and Avery over to swim at her pool. They had a lot of fun celebrating going back to school. ;-)

"Miss" Loren brought cupcakes for the girls. Libby was OBSESSED with the mermaid in her hand. Avery was so sweet to share it with her!

Attempting at a group picture...

Sweet school buddies. Emily, Libby, Avery and Will (Avery's little brother).

And some pictures of swimming at our pool...

Barbie went for a swim too.

And when we were walking back to the house, Libby thought she would pick a tree flower for me.

Yes, she picked that out of one of our neighbors yard. I didn't see her do it, but I sure hope they don't notice. Oops!

I promise closet and office pictures are coming soon! I've been a little occupied, and also didn't realize what I was getting myself into with all of these projects I have going on.  I promise by the end of the week I'll post about my closet clean out. I must say it's quite the transformation!

Old School

Just received an email that Anderson sent me
that had this picture attached to it...

Who and Papa circa 1984 or '85.  Lookin' young with all that hair in the WP Ballroom. Just after they won the Boy Scout/Russell Lands ProAm tournament . When I asked Libby who she thought the two men on the left end were, she just gave me a blank stare... When I said Who and Papa, she didn't believe me. I don't know who the guy with the mustache is?  Cole McInnis is on the far right.

Libby's got some good looking grandfathers that's for sure!

** Had some technical difficulties with the picture.  Can y'all see the picture now??

Labor Day Weekend

I can't believe Labor Day weekend 2010 has come and gone. Our last official days of summer. Kind of sad to see summer go, but after this weekends weather I'm not too sad about fall coming! I know I say and hear this all the time, but I can't believe we're well over half way through 2010. Crazy!

Friday, Nolen and I had a double date night with Paige and Josh. Libby stayed with Bessie and Papa. It was a lot of fun catching up with them! Saturday was GAME DAY here in Auburn. Mr. Tom, Thomas and Amber came down for the game. Everyone was very happy Auburn started their season off with a  WIN!

Sunday morning we went to the lake. We went to my parents house to get Libby, and we ended up all taking naps. We spent the rest of the afternoon with the Lamberth's. Libby and I hung out on the beach.

OH- And Barbie joined us also...

The water was a little chilly than normal.

We can tell the water has gone down a lot!

Libby worked on her arabesque and forward role during the weekend. Don't have a picture of the forward role though.

Daddy came out to play...

Libby decided to catch some rays.

The she tried to join the boys in throwing the football.

Then she just gave up... Poor thing. This family is just overloaded with boys. Good thing there are girl cousins on the Neighbors' side. And a new baby girl cousin on the Lamberth's now.

We went for a boat ride...

Monday, Libby and I ate lunch at the Grille with Sasa, Who, Na-na (Thanks for the U.S. Open t-shirt!) and some more tennis friends. We also skied. We found Hayes on the lake, so Nolen skied us. And...

Mr. Tom impressed us and skied for the first time in a long time! I hope he's not hurting too bad this morning.

As when we were packing up the car, I turned around and saw this...

This little 3-year-old was tired! She didn't open her eyes until 6 a.m. the next morning. That's almost over 12 hours of good sleep. Now she's well rested and ready to conquer her 2nd week of preschool!

Happy Birthday Say-say!

Happy Birthday Say-say! I'm so blessed to have you as my Mom, and Libby is so blessed to have you as her Grandmother. We love you so much...

And this morning at 6:30, Libby worked on making you a birthday card... With a little help of course. She did write the letter "L" though.

Happy Birthday Say-say!

We love you!!

First Day of 3-year-old Preschool

I am happy to report Libby and I survived the first day of school! I had no doubt she would love it, but 3-year-olds are very unpredictable I've learned. :-) I just still can't believe it's been a year since this post. She will go every Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8:30-11:30.

She woke up bright and early at 6:45. First thing she requested was that she watch cartoons and eat breakfast. So we did just that! When I put the Fruit Loops in front of her I said, "There's your cereal." Which she nicely corrected me that Fruit Loops aren't cereal there just Fruit Loops.

Libby getting annoyed at my picture taking. I understand. I wouldn't want someone taking pictures of me eating breakfast in the early AM.

She doesn't have any clothes on because she may or may not have slept in her leotard from gymnastics. That seems to happen whenever Nolen puts her to bed.  Nolen decides to stay out of the clothing department with us. He doesn't understand the excitement of clothes nor does he choose to figure it out. And I might add that it's a big turn on to me that he knows NOTHING about girls and their clothes. :-)

After breakfast and cartoons we got all pretty and took our annual "first day of school" pictures at the front door.

Playing a little tune for the neighborhood.

When we got to school she walked in the classroom and went straight to her new big girl cubby.

Such a sweet girl. Trying to get a picture with Mrs. Carmello and Mrs. Rich. She was acting a little shy...

Back in the swing of things at school...

And just for fun. Seeing what a difference a year makes...

Open House

Libby had preschool open house this morning!  She was a little shy at first around her teachers and friends, but she quickly warmed up. It's been since the beginning of May since they were all together in their classroom. She saw Mrs. Carmello, Mrs. Rich and some of her friends during the summer, so there weren't any strange faces.

She has the same teachers from last year (Mrs. Carmello and Mrs. Rich), same classmates (a few new ones), and the same class room. So there won't be too many changes (thank goodness!).

Of course Libby went straight to the dress-up box. She picked out this red beauty! Reminds me of something from the 1940s, and she is building a castle in case you were wondering.

Libby and Avery playing in their dress up clothes.

Coloring the apple and she spelled her name for Mrs. Carmello. She was very proud!

Libby having her tea party and Emily feeding her baby.

Libby is getting her beauty sleep as I type. Her Daddy put her to bed at 7:30... Early for my night owl! I have Bible study on Tuesday nights, so Nolen has night duties with Libby.

I still can't believe Libby starts school tomorrow! The summer went by way too fast, but I know she will have so much fun at school this year! Her teachers are so sweet and love her, and that makes me so happy! It's going to be a BIG year, and I can't wait to watch my sweet baby girl learn and grow this year!
