Fire Station & Google

I was in panic mode for a minute this morning when I couldn't find Libby's school t-shirt AND my camera wasn't turning on. Libby had her first "real" school field trip today so both of those things were very important to have.

I found her school t-shirt in the bottom drawer under a shirt. Not where I usually keep her t-shirts! No wonder I couldn't find it. Big sigh of relief!

I have to thank Google for the camera situation. I mean what would I do without Google?? It solves all kinds of problems! My camera would turn on, but it had a blank screen on it saying "E24". I simply googled "E24 error on Canon camera" and there it was... perfect instructions on how to fix the problem! Ah, amazing! I was so happy. I did exactly what the instructions said (the LCD plug was unplugged from inside the camera, so I had to unscrew the top cover) and it worked!!

So, if something ever happens to your camera, first Google it and see if you can fix it. Because if you take it to Best Buy or another electronic store (I'm assuming) they will have to send it off and that takes 2-3 weeks. I couldn't part from my camera that long! Especially since I have a cute 3-year-old to take pictures of... :-)

OK- Back on track to the field trip! I was told by Libby's teacher on Monday that she was a little "stressed out" about the field trip. If you remember last year, she screamed when the firemen came to her classroom. I couldn't be there so sweet Mrs. Traywick had to comfort her.

I was so hoping Libby would forget about that scary event, but she didn't. This year they actually got to go to the fire station. (It is in walking distance from the church.)

This morning she was feeling a little better about the fire station. We left the church and walked down the street to the fire station. She was great the whole way. She got a little scared as we approached the fire house. When we got there they took a class picture in front of the fire truck...

Libby was smiling, but I didn't get it on camera.

We went for a tour around the fire house. Libby was great! Then we got the room where they get dressed. This is what scared Libby the most. I told her to just put her head down if she didn't want to look at the fireman in his mask and everything. So she did exactly that, when she got scared she just closed her eyes and put her head down. Much, much better than I thought she would do!!

The firemen were so sweet!!

Walking back to the church. They had to hold the rope so they would all stay together.

I'm so glad Libby did better than I thought. Maybe next year she'll get over her fear even more. Who knows she might even give the firemen a hug next year!

  1. Proud of Libby. I can see why that masks scares her...it does look scary from a childs eyes....like a big scary human bug. You gave her good advice...I can see her squeezing her eyes shut and her head down...sad that it scares her ...like you said she'll probably be best friends next year.
