our {rainy} weekend

Saturday was supposed to be race day for me, but because of bad weather {tornado warning} it was postponed until Sunday. It was nasty on Saturday, so Libby and I decided to get out of the house to go see Beauty and the Beast 3D. Daddy stayed at home for this one and watched Auburn bastketball. :)

Notice the LOVELY stickers on the window?? I used to think people who let their kids put stickers on their cars window was dirty. NOW I'm that person. Ah! I am going to pull out some windex and get them off soon b/c there driving me crazy!
When the movie started I knew something was wrong... It wasn't in 3D. Well, about 5 minutes into the movie it shut off and started over again IN 3D!! I'm sure Libby was thinking "What's up with these glasses... they don't work!" She kept taking them off... No wonder! And I was just thinking, "man I hope the 3D didn't cost more b/c this is NOT 3D!" Anyway...

Sunday was RACE DAY! It started at 7:30, so I got there about 20 minutes early. I didn't want to wait around and get myself worked up. {get there and go without being able to think about it is what I like.} It was so foggy and wet.

The first 3 miles were a breeze. I was feeling good and felt like I could go forever. Miles 4 and 5 I could feel my legs were getting tired. I was just trying to pace myself and not worry about the time. Since I'm very new to the whole racing thing, my goals are to FINISH right now. I'll worry about improving my time later!

My time was the 1:09:20. Felt so good to finish!

After the race we went to breakfast at Panera. Celebrating 6.2 miles!

It felt so good to finish something that I've been practicing for a few months now. I don't know what's next, but I think I want to do some more 5k and 10k races in the future! MAYBE someday there will be a half-marathon in the books. We'll see!

happy rainy monday!
