NYC

This past Monday Mrs. Beth, Kasi and I headed to NYC for a girls trip! Last time I went to New York was almost 4 1/2 years ago, so I was excited to go again. This made it my 4th trip to New York, but it was still so much fun!

We got to our hotel Monday afternoon- We freshened up then went out on the streets. We ran into Mickey Mouse on the side of the street. Mrs. Beth insisted on taking a picture for Libby.

We went to F.A.O Sh

Libby would have been in heaven in the Barbie section. I almost bought her a Barbie, but instead MB bought her a new outfit for the fall. After we shopped around we went to Milo's for dinner. It was delicious! The appetizer was amazingly good! It was the Milo's Special- It was eggplants and cucumbers chips with this Greek yogurt type thing to dip it in. It also had the cheese bit things. Delicious! It was the best thing I ate the whole trip. Bad picture of the restaurant. It was a really cool restaurant, and we also noticed that about 80% of the people in the restaurant were men. It was kind of weird, because I wouldn't consider it a "men" type restaurant.

On our way back from the liquor store we took a picture in Time Square. Kidding. It just looks like Kasi is holding a brown bag of liquor. Thought that was funny! :-)

Tuesday morning we walked by Rockefeller Center just in time to see a little bit of the 4th hour of the Today Show. I tried to get a picture of  Hoda, but the glare was making it hard to see. And she was on the opposite side as us.

We shopped around the rest of the day. It started raining that afternoon, so we did all we could handle. Which made or day shorter. We finally found the Tory Burch store, we were given wrong directions to the TB store, so It took us longer than expected. I got some really cute shoes though! We went in a baby store too. This baby store had the HEAT on in JULY! We almost passed out so we got a taxi and headed back to the hotel. We ate at Becco (Italian restuarant) before we went to see Wicked.

Last time I was in New York I saw Wicked, but it was so good I wanted to see it a second time. I think I resemble a giraffe in this picture a little bit.

After we took this picture a young girl came up to us and asked if one of us would do a short interview with her about what we think when we hear New York City. Mrs. Beth gladly accepted and did a great job. MB's face will now be on Columbia's campus!

Wicked was just as amazing as the first time. I picked up a lot of stuff that I didn't the first time.

It was super crowded when we were walking back from the play.

On Wednesday we rode the subway uptown to 69th to the Pottery Barn Kids store. And I must say it is pretty steamy underground.

We walked down these cute little side streets with beautiful trees and town homes. At this point I was sending Nolen text messages saying, "OK- I'm ready to move here. You on board?" Answer. "Um, sounds great, but where is the 10 thousand dollars for rent each month?" Reality hit me and realized this is true. It was fun dreaming about it for minute. Anythings possible though right? :-)

We ate lunch at this quaint little restaurant on the corner of a pretty street.  I picked out our townhouse just in case. You never know! :-)

It was really cloudy and rained some so we went to the Met for some good history! A lot of people had the same idea too.

Loved this painting by Monet.

When we were leaving we noticed a familiar name. Nolen. And it was spelled the right way too!

We walked around the Met to Central Park and rested our feet a bit before catching a cab back to the hotel.

I saw this fun sculpture when we were leaving Central Park.

We saw Jersey Boys on Wednesday night. It was so fun!

On Thursday morning I met Amelia, Riley Frances and GiGi (RF's grandmother) for breakfast. We happened to all be in NYC at the same time. Amelia, her sister and Mom were there, and RF came to see her awesome grandmother who lives in NYC and owns a jewelry store, Gray and Davis. She was so sweet to take us to breakfast. It was fun being with someone that has lived in New York for many years. I happily put my map back in my purse and felt like I lived in New York for a little bit. Acting like I new exactly where I was going. :-)

Riley Frances and Gigi walking to her jewelry store.

Her jewelry store is mostly antique pieces. She said she has some things that she makes, but mostly everything is antique. Everything was so BEAUTIFUL! Wish I could have stayed longer, but we had to head back to the South. Of course the day we leave the weather is perfect!

Before we left we got a picture of us in front of Gigi's jewelry store.

This was such a fun trip, and I will remember it forever! I can't wait to go back! I think I just might have the best Mother in law ever!
