Summer Saturday

Oh how I love Saturdays in the summer. We were finally home this Saturday, and the plan this Saturday was no plan. It was wonderful. We slept late (If 7:30 counts as sleeping late), enjoyed drinking coffee while sitting on the couch watching TV (doesn't happen often), watched cartoons, stayed in our pajamas all morning, ate a late breakfast, played outside, read. It was so nice and relaxing. Just what we needed.

Our friend Jordan is in town from Illinois. I tried to get a picture of Libby and Jordan together, but Libby needed a little more time to warm up.

Nolen and Jordan went to play golf and Libby and I played outside on her Elmo splash pad.

She was loving it! Then she remembered that she forgot about Barbie. So, she went to get Barbie to take her for a swim. She made me take her dress off so her clothes wouldn't get wet. How thoughtful. Maybe we should get a swim suit for Miss Barbie.

Then she insisted on taking a picture of me. And...

Did you notice anything different about Libby?

Yes, I. cut. her. hair.

I cut it yesterday and almost cried my eyes out because I thought I butchered it. It's grown on me now. It was just such a drastic change. When she looked in the mirror and started crying my heart was hurting so bad. I know- Silly that my heart was hurting over a hair cut. I like it now. It's not as bad as I thought. It's actually pretty cute! I definitely have ZERO experience in cutting hair, so for my first time, maybe it isn't as bad as it felt right then.

We came back inside and painted our toenails. I painted mine red and hers pink. When she saw that mine were red and hers were pink, she pretty much had a melt down. She wanted hers just like mine. How cute! Of course I re-did them and they smeared a little bit. At least they were red.

It was a great Saturday. We need days like that. Where I'm not pressured to do all the house keeping that happens during the week. Oh how I wish Saturdays happened more often.

Now I have a sweet little girl to put to bed. She played so hard today.

Happy Saturday.
